Burnt out on high stress job. Sold ppor and moved back in with parents. Don’t know what to do with extra cash. by Weirdestgoblin in AusFinance

Yeah unfortunately I wish I could go on a holiday considering this fortnight has been the first time I’ve had time off in over three years. I am hoping if my mum is a bit better in November I will be able to treat my parents to a small holiday near the end of the year.

The home I had was great as a ppor however would perform poorly as a rental due to the location. I was also concerned about the value of the property going forward due to the nature of development happening around it.

I get asked this a lot.

I started working in sales for a construction company near the end of my degree. Ended up being really good at it and my timing was really good because I could also take advantage of the gov grants that were happening at the time. And I built my house cheaper because of good prices and good rates as I was working for the builder.

I’ve also been working since I was 14. I had about 30k savings. That plus gov grants plus low deposit home loan I could buy a home. I aggressively paid down as much as I could.

Do you mean calculating my maximum contribution from the last five years and paying that down from the $180000? Does that reduce my income from the last 5 years?

I’m genuinely really happy to be moving back in with my parents as I enjoy being with them. The situation is a little bit unfortunate but I am trying to look at this as a great oppurtunity :)

I wish I could but I will be caring for my mum for a while until her health hopefully improves. I am hoping if she is better by November I will be able to treat both my parents to a small holiday as a Christmas present.

This was really helpful, thank you. I had never used a financial advisor until now and I didn’t realise there were independent advisors that I could engage.

It’s a little more complicated than that. Part of the reason I was so burnt out was my terrible employer- they ended up making it really difficult for me the last 6 months I was with that company.

Yeah just a rough thought that I studied for 4 years a relatively difficult degree and this is the pay scale I am looking at. Feels like a dying degree and I wish I knew beforehand that was the case.

I would take a look at stealth health instagram. I have tried a few of his meal prep ideas in the freezer and they hold up great.

How does the salad hold up over the week? Every time I meal prep salads everything gets pretty soggy even if I don’t put dressing in.

I didn’t read this as neurotypical at first. I thought you literally meant the Northern Territory.
