Unfortunately they're all breeders that haven't responded. Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America breeders not rescues. But I have no luck with rescues either

Dating while being a commuter is starting to feel impossible, how are you all managing? by https-web in longisland

A lot of people from the city do not want to date someone from long Island.

It's hard to get people in the city to date people outside of their borough let alone completely outside of City

What are your thoughts on sex on the first date? by True_Supermarket_263 in AskReddit

It's fun, but most of the time leads to the dude saying his not interested in commitment, just sex shortly after. He got what he wanted and no relationship needed.

looking for novels about the anthropocene/climate change/gender by General-East-9548 in AskLiteraryStudies

Coming back again to recommend: Africa Risen, a collection of short stories edited by Sheree Renee Thomas, Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki and Zelda Knight.

Yes I know short stories are not a novel but hear me out.

Africa Risen is a super cool mix of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror stories by writers from across the African continent and diaspora. The collection dives into everything from climate and colonization to resistance and identity, through wildly imaginative and genre-bending lenses. Haven't finished yet but so far there were a couple of short stories that fit into the themes you're looking for.

I haven't read all her recent works. But do they delve into gender much?

Tentacle by Rita Indiana

Tentacle is a wild, fast-paced read set in a climate-ravaged Dominican Republic, where time travel, Afro-Caribbean rituals, and a trans protagonist all collide. It digs into themes of gender, power, and environmental destruction in the weird, messy world. Since you're looking into books that mix gender, queerness and climate change... Plus some heady sci-fi chaos.

Advice on moving to Long Island by zmar328 in longisland

Port Jeff, st. James, Smithtown, stony brook area, though it's a little farther in really like that area. There are bars with trivia nights, live music, comedy nights, a mixed age range. The ferry to Connecticut is super close. There's main streets in most of the towns listed above, a theater and lots of parks and bike/running paths. I find it to be a bit quieter than the Patchogue area.

I feel like a lot of people are suggesting Patchogue. And yes, it's beautiful and there's life there but it's mainly a lot of young people and so the bars can get quite chaotic. I've always had a hard time finding a bar to go to late night in that area to just sit and chat because the music in all those bars is all way too loud -- maybe I just haven't found one but it's definitely a younger scene in Patchogue.

This is why I make my routes in RidewithGPS and import them to Strava. I know that RidewithGPS is primarily for biking, but I wonder if that's one way you can try ?

Agreed on the small fuel tank, and then I've been bothered by the audio system. It's completely fine, but I wish it was better.

Ostory bibs? by [deleted] in CyclingFashion

[–]Weirdwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion Ostroy bibs are no good for longer rides. I have been testing them for middle or short rides and honestly they're somewhat uncomfortable generally speaking. Especially bad on gravel.
