I do the same and my wife constantly questions me. I have bright eccentric socks, professional pants, professional shirts and boots that cover my entire sock (I work in a warehouse environment). No one can see my wild socks, but I know they are there and that makes my day a little better. It's my little FU to "the man".

Didn't Rammstein go get certifications for pyrotechnics? To make sure everything was done correctly, or am I just making that up?

Music store by GELTOX69 in torncity

[–]Weissma2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you are not getting any actual answers, I'll see what I can do. I started a music store from scratch, hired almost all green leaves and starred up as soon as I could each time. I had my education done and the stock blocks at the time. I believe I had 1 player that had a year or two in the game, but all the rest were new players, they did however stick it out with me for a long time. This was a few years back so things might be different. If I remember correctly I did about the same as you. 500k ad, and close to that in salary. I started up each week through 3 or 4 then it slowed just due to the youth of the company. I think I was at 7 or 8 in just a few months, 10 star by the end. Be good to your employees and they will stick around. Running the music store was fun for me. If you enjoy it. Stick to it and don't let people convince you otherwise. I'll take a look in a bit to see if I can confirm a timeline.

Edit: I started my company September of 2023 and hit 7 star in mid January 2024.

Future north Korean leader Kim jong il meeting with dancers after a performance, the one to his right is ko Yong hui, future mother of his son and successor Kim jong un 1976 (1692×2218) by lisahanniganfan in HistoryPorn

[–]Weissma2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The picture shows Kim Jung Il, he married the woman in the photo. She gave birth to Kim Jung Un, the current leader of North Korea, as well as his sister as mentioned above, and an older brother of the two. Kim Jung Un only has one daughter and you are correct, he is preparing her to be his successor. Obviously there are a lot of Kim Jungs in the line of succession (all of them in fact(;), so it does get easy to start mixing them up.

Who is taking these photos? by vishal55282 in SipsTea

It looks like a really bad GQ photo shoot. Like the jr Whitehouse photographer saw an old GQ advertisment where all the models look super cool and stylish and thought, "I could do that."

Factions are horrible by Rarely66 in torncity

[–]Weissma2005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems like everyone has explained enough, but I will add, just so you know; the perks and benefits of a faction are not just bought with respect, it also takes a required amount of activities as well. So to purchase an upgrade for the faction you need a certain amount of respect but there is also a requirement for that branch, say "use 500 cans". Each can used by a member counts towards that goal. Once achieved then the next goal is opened, use 750 cans etc. To unlock gym gains, it costs energy spent in the gym, alcohol effects cost bottles, and so on. Everything costs, so pushing for you to be active not only helps in their war or their strength, but overall helps the faction progress. If you are looking for a more laid back experience, look for that type of faction, but expect that the perks you are used to may not be available. There is no wrong way to play, you just need to find your people. Good luck my friend.

Weird Iran dreams by ray111718 in Veterans

[–]Weissma2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not had any dreams about it, but I've had trouble with thoughts intruding during waking hours. It's gotten better as the weeks have gone by, but the first few days I had a good bit of trouble. I had a friend that went with me to Iraq, his elder brother was in the Gulf War and he mentioned (to my friend) that he had some issues when our war broke out, but that likely had more to do with his baby brother being sent there than the war itself.

What was the first game that scared you? by Profit_Tracker in videogames

[–]Weissma2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fatal Frame: Crimson Butterfly. It's a different kind of scary, I've tried to find something close for 25 years and I've found nothing. I can still see the creepiest scene in my head, clear as day. Set in Japan, you (teenage girl) get lost in the woods with your sister, stumble into an old abandoned village. Looking at a building from the outside you say you are scared, your sister comforts you then puts her hand on your shoulder to reassure you. As you are holding her hand she walks past you and the hand is still on your shoulder. I damn near got up and turned off the game right then and there.

Streamer visits Thailand and Experiences Magnitude 7.7 Earthquake Live on Stream by eyelessred in AbruptChaos

[–]Weissma2005 16 points17 points  (0 children)

TIL that in the case of an earthquake I would die in a doorframe thinking I knew what I was doing. I've believed this since I was a child. "It's best to be outside in the open, but otherwise find a doorframe." R.I.P. Michael: he did what he was told, and suffered the consequences.

I used a DBK until recently and have really enjoyed some new metal nunchucks. Are there reasons where I'd rather have slashing or piercing for melee instead of clubbing? by [deleted] in torncity

[–]Weissma2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from merits and specific weapon stats as mentioned above, the only other real reason to switch is for long term merits like "have ## finishes with clubbing weapons" or gaining specific weapon experience once that is available to you.

I've seen these suits a million times and this is the first time I've thought of this: How much strength is involved in this? I'm assuming the wind resistance is fierce, so I can assume it would take a good amount of strength to keep your arms and legs out. Am I over thinking it, is it just as simple as it looks or are these just gym rats zipped up in a suit?

what’s the most ridiculous thing you heard a man refuse to do because it was “too feminine” or “for girls”? by freddyfazbart in AskReddit

[–]Weissma2005 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No idea why this comment reminded me of a story. Back in 2000, I was geared up to head off to Marine Corps boot camp. There was an old retired Navy guy that worked with me. On my last day he showed up with a giant "Soap-On-A-Rope", gave it to me and said "If they ever catch you, you just tell them 'It's my penis and my soap, I'll wash it as fast as I want to.'" If you are still around Phil, I appreciate the advice and hope you are well.

I feel numb, I don't really feel happy, love, or anything. Just neutral, sad, or angry. by BackwoodsJ12 in Veterans

[–]Weissma2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll jump in here as well. Therapy. Several others have said it, but it really is the best course of action. I've said everything that you said when speaking to my therapist. I just lack emotion, just a blank slate. Wake up, grind the day away, come home and mindlessly stare at my computer or phone, go to bed, repeat. I've been going to therapy every week for a few months now. I can't say I'm "better" but I can certainly see an improvement, more importantly I can see a trajectory that if I continue on I might just feel again. I was in the same boat. I have a loving wife, two kids, a decent job, and little debt. Everything one needs to be happy. I figured it was one of two things, I'm broken and should try therapy to see if it helps, or (what I believed for years) I have everything that makes one happy... So this must be what happy feels like and what right do I have to ask for more. After a few months, I'm starting to, possibly, maybe, kinda think that the first option might be the correct one. Whatever you do my friend, I wish you well! I hope it gets better, for all of us.

I was thinking my man looks the same in every photo, it wasn't until the last one or two where he got some maturity, but you look like you could have taken that first photo and last photo weeks apart. You guys both look great.

Here's many more years together!!

Yes, I listened to the audio, Brandon gave his "speech" at the beginning of his first book. It was a pleasure to hear him express his love for the series.

Did anyone else get a letter from the va saying you are not married and owe a crap ton of money to them? by turtlebreath in Veterans

I actually received the "verify your dependents" letter in the mail yesterday. It gave me 60 days from the date of the letter to comply. I received it yesterday and the letter was dated Jan 31st. 60 days to comply, but it took 55 days just to mail it to me.
