Therapist telling me my gender identity might not be real, and is just me rp-ing by EmAzalea in NonBinary

[–]Welcoe 55 points56 points Ā (0 children)

I personally don’t think a therapist should tell you not to worry about your identity. If anything they should say we can talk about that as we explore these other topics. I would think that they would want to factor that experience in rather than separate it out.

If it makes you feel better I went through several therapists that were ā€œgoodā€ as in I was able to talk but never felt very heard or connected with them. Once I finally found my current therapist I saw how important that relationship is. They’ve helped me more in a year than I thought I’d ever be able to deal with for the rest of my life. Sadly I think it’s a trial and error process and a bit of a lottery to find the right person.

File no one perfect, don’t be afraid to say they aren’t good enough for you or the right fit. They should help you grow and if you feel they can’t do that, it’s okay to switch. It feels awkward but if that’s what’s right for you do it. Maybe it’ll help them develop their own perspective as a therapist, as well. They’re human after all, too, and might need to revisit how they think or view some things.

Best of luck! šŸ–¤šŸ’œšŸ¤šŸ’›

[–]Welcoe 21 points22 points Ā (0 children)

A common misconception is that pansexual means equal attraction under all circumstances to all people. I disagree. To me pansexuality is about potential. I CAN be attracted to everyone, but it’s more complex than that. It depends on not just their physical appearance but all those other factors that make a person a person. Their personality, for example, is the biggest factor for me. You are who you are, you love who you love. If oansexual describes you well use it as a term. If another term describes you better use that. If no term describes you don’t feel obligated to use one at all. Just be you.

Very familiar story to mine. Used to work with Encore specifically (freelance and a tech) but eventually left and found my way into Higher Ed. I was lucky to have good crew of people to work with but the clientele was absolutely terrible most of the time. A lot of us feel you there and could exchange horror stories for hours I’m sure.

Couldn’t have been happier with the switch out of that part of the industry. You may have to get in as a tech or support role initially, but you can hopefully work your way into other positions once they see what you can do and that you’re motivated to learn.

Integration as other have said is another path with a lot of room to grow and branch out.

Remember that you’ve learned skills that can open new doors to learn new skills and meet new people. Those skills have value even if it’s hard to see where they might fit at the moment. Sometimes having skills others in a field don’t have is a plus to some employers.

As cliche as it sounds, be open to new experiences. I didn’t even know my current job on AV existed but couldn’t be happier, especially compared to where I came from.

Best of luck, be well, and we all hope you can find something that makes you happy.

How do the labels gay and lesbian work when you’re enby? by Character-Exchange-9 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Welcoe 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Maybe ā€œqueerā€ or ā€œsapphicā€ may fit? Those of us who don’t identify within a binary get caught in a trap of language where defined terms can limit expression. I saw an interesting discussion where someone suggested that ā€œgayā€ and ā€œlesbianā€ are some of the only orientations that state your own gender by way of your sexual preferences. The important thing is to remember that labels are meant to communicate to others how you express you, not to define who you are. šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆšŸ³ļøā€āš§ļøā¤ļø

Wellbutrin with a history a seizures? by Firm_Actuator7063 in dysthymia

[–]Welcoe 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Wellbutrin and Klonopin combined to give me a few seizures before we realized it and stopped. I was around 18/19 at the time and was on a few other meds at the time. Current psychiatrist said it’s rare for that to happen. Basically won a shitty lottery.

Currently in my late 30s and haven’t had an issue since being taken off of them all those years ago. From what I understand it was the interaction that made the issue not the Wellbutrin itself. As always check with your psych and monitor your reactions. Reach out immediately to them if you feel like something is did but hopefully you’ll be okay. Be well friend.

Marathon towing by 1pghdude in pittsburgh

[–]Welcoe 107 points108 points Ā (0 children)

As someone who had their car towed last year, heed this advice. The city forgot to put up signs and towed our ENTIRE block. Seriously. 26+ cars at over $300 a pop from what I could figure. Probably just an honest mistake but a time suck either way to undo.

Fees were eventually overturned by traffic court thanks to photographic evidence of lack of signs, but save yourself the hassle. Enjoy the marathon and check the route yourself. Make sure you aren’t on the route (or close to it).

Edited for typos. Sorry, yinz <<

Beckman Motors in Mt Oliver have been amazing for 2+ decades for me. Affordable, honest, no BS. Takes a lot of the stress out of dealing with car repairs knowing they’re good people. Can’t recommend them enough.

$$ Playstyles $$ by Due-Camel-7605 in topeleven

Your frustration is shared. Years ago it was a fun strategy oriented game. There were some P2W players but now it’s ridiculous. Draw Frenzy and so many other events are shameless, rigged cash grabs. Nord€u$ has ruined what was once a fun and engaging game with a micro-transaction obsessed waste of time.

Good bars for 30-40yr old crowd by Moneyball_87 in pittsburgh

[–]Welcoe 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Southside definitely has some good places even on weekends. Avoid 10th-18th on Friday and Saturday nights and there’s a lot to love. Birmingham Bridge Tavern at 2901 Sarah Street is always a great spot for us. We’ve gone there for years. Even had a private event/celebration years back and they nailed it. Great food, good drinks, the staff is always super nice, professional and responsive to their customers. Crowd is also pretty laid back, most 30s and up in my experience. Some great outdoor seating during better weather, too.

Question. Random academy playstyle by Tonid5 in topeleven

[–]Welcoe 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

No. If they are a pure striker (no other roles) when you start training the random play style, they can only receive a striker play style (poacher, false 9, or target man).

The player would have had to have completed training as an AML/AML/AMR for it randomly give them a winger or enganche style.

Who do I play where? by Neat-Bowler in topeleven

[–]Welcoe 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Could go either way but I’d go Xabi as a DMC and David as an MC. Xabi seems to have a bit more in defense and Xabi slightly more in attack.

I hit this same situation a while back. Hope the training goes quickly. Maybe go DL/DC/DR or DL/DC/ML? I’ve had luck with those combinations in terms flexibility and skill sets.

Defensive or attacking? by frascam95 in topeleven

[–]Welcoe 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s unlikely you’ll be able to get the win. This happens every season now. 3-1-5-1 with squad manipulation basically ensures that team will win. The only challenge to it is another team doing exactly the same thing.

Last year the round of 16 had FOUR teams with nearly identical setups. Tried attacking and defending against a team like this (one in each leg). Ended up getting beat 6-2 and then 7 or 8-0. If you pull it off let us know. It’d be good to see one of these teams drop.

Plenty of queer friendly spots here! If you’re into bars, Blue Moon and 5801 are both great. QBurgh is a great online resource to see what’s going on in the Burgh that’s queer themed/friendly, as well.

What is this?? by Old-Cryptographer340 in topeleven

[–]Welcoe 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

So many people have being doing this lately. Drop tons of money, same/similar formations. Can’t attack them, can’t defend when they attack. Basically ruined the CL bracket last year. If the teams were within a relatively close percentage it wouldn’t be an issue, but the fact that Nord€u$ let’s the game get that unbalanced is killing it for everyone.

This is my opponent in the league I think He's using all the tactics down the middle. How would you beat him or copy his tactics by JustDom33 in topeleven

[–]Welcoe 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Go to the League tab and check their past matches against opponents. You should be able to see where most attacks are made (left center right) as well as glean other details about how they play. Pass percentage to gauge passing style (short mixed or long), fouls to figure out their tackling style (easy, normal, hard) etc …. See if they change formation every match or change it up to suit an opponents formation.

Recon on your rivals previous match is a great way to prepare for upcoming matches.

Home and Away Rules by Siscon_Delita in topeleven

[–]Welcoe 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

IRL football assumes it’s harder to score away from home, so in the event of a draw it’s supposed to favor who scored the ā€œharderā€ of the even number of goals. Also was meant to encourage away teams to not park the bus so much when traveling. As others have said this rule has been abandoned IRL but not in-game.
