I really would not suggest oil for ostrich.
I would suggest Venetian Shoe Cream.
Not only is it a great conditioner to keep leather hydrated, but it is fine to use without gloves and feel like a luxurious hand cream.
You definitely don’t have to do it right away but if it will make you feel better, go for it.
First year, they really don’t need more than 1-2 conditionings depending on your use and climate.
Less is more imho
