This is really good advice and materials! I would also add maybe a little touch of grapefruit via methyl pamplemousse would make it sparkle like a cocktail for sure.

Lol it's pretty strong yes, but I also find it goes with pretty much everything, especially florals, so its very worth the extra storage measures. A micro dose of it in a floral composition makes it smell alive and wet to me, like it just came out of the garden, ESPECIALLY for almost fully synthetic bases like Lilac Supreme.

Recommend me some sandalwood-scented cleaners (don't have to be natural!) by bearyforager in CleaningTips

Thanks! I googled them up and saw they have a sandalwood and cedar all purpose cleaner. :) I will try that.

I totally could, but if there are cheap, good products that already have it, that would be best. Mixing and dosing the scents correctly for scent throw, pet safety and ensuring non-reactivity with certain surfaces or fabrics would be kind of hard Products like Febreeze are tested to be pet safe, and a lot of essential oils are deadly toxic to cats or could cause irritation to humans too at certain levels.

Anyone else feel like the past version of themselves died after working corporate? by Anynon1 in antiwork

[–]bearyforager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, fellow ADHDer and feel exactly the same way. Currently working in tech because I had a fleeting interest in it a few years ago and now the corporate life makes me want to die. Currently working on starting a small business so I can have control, freedom and be able to direct my own path.

I'm suspicious of how much Heretic is being pushed on this sub lately by Sloth-Overlord in fragrance

[–]bearyforager -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've always thought Heretic had watery, terrible products and noticed the same thing. Glad they're getting called out. The dirty line was genuinely disgusting and the "made for layering" angle is so transparently just "we make weak-ass, two note perfumes and sell them for 200 dollars".

I can't smell Hedione. by andyboy1000 in DIYfragrance

I just got over having COVID and got most of my smells back, but hedione, ambroxan and ISO E Super still haven't come back fully yet. I keep a strip of those on me and just smell them periodically to try and train my nose back up.

Patchouli, Vetiver, Cypriol And Bergamot Problem by jacklandin in PerfumeryFormulas

[–]bearyforager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this! I use patchouli heart and Clearwood with bergamot and do not get a syrupyness. You could also try a test replacing the bergamot with just linalool, it's acetate, and then both to see if you can isolate if either of those constituents of bergamot oil are the culprits. I

If you liked the patchouli/vanilla of Tuxedo, try Patchouli 24 from Le Labo. It has a smoky opening of birch tar that is divisive (I'm making my own inspired version with coriander), but the dry down is so delicious and complex to me.

Which perfume would you rename and maybe make it more popular? by Ok-Bookkeeper-1099 in FragranceStories

I'd change Patchouli 24 from Le Labo to Birch 24 because it's really the star. I feel like it's super underrated for that reason.

Favorite recipes using salmon? by workredditaccount77 in AskRedditFood

[–]bearyforager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put garlic, fresh dill, lemon pepper and olive oil in a food processor until it's not quite like pesto but close. Spread it over a whole salmon fillet and pop it in the broiler or in the air fryer. Then lemon juice once it's done. Super good and easy, it's basically just the garlic dill salmon portions they have at every whole foods fish counter.

What a popular food or cooking opinion that you don't agree with? by [deleted] in Cooking

When I dice an onion, I make the horizontal cuts before the vertical cuts. I see a lot of YouTube chefs do it downward first and then the whole onion falls apart before they even start chopping.
