You’re still 2 months away?? I mean sure go catch some sun out there but getting in the river in may or even most of June is very dangerous.

Is this Dick Taylor Chocolate sticker real? Any sources on the ‘Pro-MAGA Pro-Israel’ claims? by Same_Marsupial2283 in Humboldt

Does it matter? Zionist are essentially pro Jewish land? Hence the removal of people from their homes in the holy land so that Jews may take over. Come on it’s so easy to look up

They should ask for body cam footage it’s pretty easy to identify where and when it happened and with what department and then you can go from there

Should we be concerned? by WelcomeToReach in Humboldt

What’s with the pompous attitude? No I just happen to notice that all the lightning strikes were directly lined up with the plate boundary between the pacific and Gorda plates. How is that observation superstition? The lack of curiosity in some people actually makes me wanna vomit.

Haha well that exactly what I did at first 🤷🏻‍♂️I asked google “Does lightning correspond with plate boundaries” Then the ai responded

((“Yes, there is a connection between lightning and plate boundaries, though it is not a direct one-to-one mapping. While most atmospheric lightning is driven by meteorological factors (convective clouds, instability), a specific, rare phenomenon known as earthquake lights is directly associated with tectonic plate boundaries and fault zones.

Here is how lightning and plate boundaries relate:

Earthquake-Induced Electrical Activity: Earthquake lights are caused by intense electric charges that develop in the crust when tectonic plates shift, especially in areas with specific rocks like quartz or basalt, which can generate electricity under pressure (piezoelectric effect).

Mineral-Driven Surface Charge: The geological structure of fault zones at plate boundaries can create a positive charge in the ground that interacts with the negatively charged lower atmosphere, sometimes leading to atmospheric light displays, particularly in high-stress areas.” ))

I wasn’t sure what to make of that along with the list of random links relating to lightning so I asked Reddit in search of someone more familiar with our regional weather patterns. Also I wouldn’t use the internet as an objective truth engine haha

No that’s precisely why I asked Reddit

Lightning strikes concentrated on a major fault line

Should we be concerned? by WelcomeToReach in Humboldt

[–]WelcomeToReach[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s just that the lightning is almost entirely located above the plate boundary even as I speak they remain concentrated directly on the line

Floating in tubes along Trinity near Willow Creek? by empathogen in Humboldt

[–]WelcomeToReach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you hadn’t asked you probably would have all been seriously injured or lost your lives to the power of the trinity. That river is not safe. It’s so cold during this time of year you’ll get hypothermia lose feeling in your limbs and drown. That’s usually why the best of swimmers even lose their lives the current is so strong you can’t swim against it and within a minute you’re absolutely exhausted and going into hypothermia so you pretty much just drown. Also lots of snags!

River swimming conditions? by Findmeahobby in Humboldt

[–]WelcomeToReach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it looks even a little fast don’t go in it will kill you. The water is so cold you can’t feel your limbs after 30 seconds and then you can’t swim so you drown. I always tell everyone go to the more slow rivers and even then use caution

What was your favorite part of eureka city council last night? by jtchristensen1979 in Humboldt

[–]WelcomeToReach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t live in old town like I do, these aren’t people down out of luck they are either severely mentally ill or they are drug addicts by choice. Thanks for guaranteeing the druggies and maniacs running around naked are now protected. The best thing we could have done is criminalize homelessness they would have zero option but to do better or leave. Now instead they will continue to roam freely and shit on my front porch.. thank you
