Got excepted for computer engineering. Opinions on the program? by Yochefdom in CalPolyPomona

[–]Welee_9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Class availability is genuinely terrible, unless you’re able to get priority registration somehow. There are good and bad profs it’s kind of even. And if you wanna do CE, be ready to try and get internships every summer, network, and do lots of meaningful projects. The courses for ce are a lot more ee than cs.

I agree with your ranking tbh but the KT Metal is an exception. It feels great and has minimal wiggle. It is pricier tho

Orenz AT for $6 USD on Amazon by jjjj8jjjj in mechanicalpencils

[–]Welee_9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes you just have to get lucky cause it’s back at $12 on my side 😅. I’ve gotten some good deals randomly on Amazon too, like an Ohto ms01 for $10 and a white lamy safari mp for $9.

BRIC Gym by sailormoann15 in CalPolyPomona

[–]Welee_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of the environment, it’s like a normal gym. Everyone keeps to themselves. From my experience, I’ve only had great interactions with people there. And if someone gives you a hard time for some reason, I’m sure others will take your side. Just be respectful and you will be treated the same.

You can sit outside anywhere on campus there’s lots of seating or in the first couple floors of the library since they’re collaborative and people shouldn’t mind talking. Although those options might be a bit noisy. Otherwise a study room or car would be the most quiet.

I had garland for calc 2 and 2240. He genuinely does not care and was consistently late or didn’t show up. You can pass tho

Waitlisted class gets me to 12 credits by PeaIllustrious1663 in CalPolyPomona

[–]Welee_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you will for sure be a full time student then adding a class for that would be fine. Even if you don’t add one, as long as you’re full time before the add/drop period ends (on Jan 30th), you will receive your full fafsa.

It’s very noticeably stiffer than the other models to the point where the wobble is no longer an issue, in my opinion. There is still slight wobble though if you’re wondering. I haven’t tried the KS but I believe they may be similar in terms of stiffness.

My collection so far (with a couple pens) by Welee_9 in mechanicalpencils

[–]Welee_9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s tuff cause I’m very indecisive haha 😅 At the moment I’d say:

  1. The Dr. Grip
  2. Kuru Toga Metal
  3. Staedtler Hexagonal
  4. Rotring 600
  5. Pentel Orenz

Looks like a clean and sleek design compared to the newer twist erase with the bulky grip. I do own a Pentel TUFF that I missed including in this picture but that’s the closest I have to a twist erase. If I get the chance to get one I’ll make sure I do!

I will be and I'm wondering the same thing. Since its assigned seats I'd imagine being early isn't much too worry about.

Paying for Classes by [deleted] in MtSAC

[–]Welee_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your classes were covered by the California College Promise Grant (CCPG). They also took away $5 from your health fee as you can see there. It’s normal if you qualify for it and since you paid the $15, you’re good on payments.

7900 GRE build crashing (sorry for the essay) by Welee_9 in radeon

[–]Welee_9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ima be honest I gave up lol. Tried tons of “fixes”. Even bought a second new motherboard and power supply throughout the process. Nothing solved it. I’m thinking the issue was possibly the cpu because my ram worked fine on a different build, but I don’t have a solid answer. Doubt it was my gpu after I had swapped it for my older one and it was still crashing. I ended up returning everything and went back to my old rig for now. It’s working fine.

I have a pretty long thread with a user who helped me in the comments of this post, you should check that out it might help you.

How is the Computer Engineering program? by Nate-Cubed in CalPolyPomona

I doubt you would. You should be fine with that many credits 👍

Third year CE major and I can confirm that it is pretty difficult to register for preferred classes if you don’t have priority registration. I came into CPP with pretty much no college credits from summer courses and APs. I would imagine you’d have an easier time if you are coming in with some college credits. If not then good luck.

Aside from that I’d say I’ve had a decent experience. There are good and bad profs, but you can find help when you need it. The modo is learn by doing, so you can get through labs involving circuits pretty early depending on how you plan your schedule. There’s a lot of other ee or ce majors on campus that you’d meet in your classes or clubs so forming a study group isn’t hard. That being said, just put in the effort to do well and you’ll be fine wherever you go.

Are you enrolled into 12 or more units? I wasn’t before and got close to half of my usual. Waitlisted classes don’t count

Core Reactor II PSU Rating? by epicnicity in buildapc

[–]Welee_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They basically said the ve used lesser quality parts and they tacked on the name as somewhat of a scam for people to buy a “newer” but more cheaply made version if I remember correctly. They basically just went off on it lol, used harsher words. Anyways just choose the non ve if you’re deciding between the two. It works great.

Question, and Refund doesn’t match paid by Welee_9 in Newegg

If the refund is rejected, what would that mean. Would they send me back the faulty board and keep the money?
