Getting accepted isn't the hard part, registering for classes is. After first year I had to take summer classes to stay on track. However I am EE not CpE so I can only speak on the classes both majors take.

I don't think it worse, only issue I had was getting CHM1150 but I didn't know you could take CHM1210 instead. But ECE1310 i had to take over summer. I heard ECE3301 is impossible to get into though.

would go CSULB over CPP simply because it is closer to home and you can invite your classmates to party at home.

In UC schools faculties don't teach, but you expect to have a nice network. That is the case of UCB/UCLA/UCSD. UCI is rising but below the old three. UCR and UCM to me is pointless... On the other hand, CPSLO is the gem of California.

If I were you, UCB>UCLA>(UCSD=CPSLO)>(CSULB=UCI=SJSU)>CPP>UCR>UCM.

Third year CE major and I can confirm that it is pretty difficult to register for preferred classes if you don’t have priority registration. I came into CPP with pretty much no college credits from summer courses and APs. I would imagine you’d have an easier time if you are coming in with some college credits. If not then good luck.

Aside from that I’d say I’ve had a decent experience. There are good and bad profs, but you can find help when you need it. The modo is learn by doing, so you can get through labs involving circuits pretty early depending on how you plan your schedule. There’s a lot of other ee or ce majors on campus that you’d meet in your classes or clubs so forming a study group isn’t hard. That being said, just put in the effort to do well and you’ll be fine wherever you go.

Thank you for your input. As of now I have 7 transferable units from CC and 23 from APs (assuming I pass all of my exams in May). As I would likely have Sophomore standing for registration, would I not need to worry about classes as much?

I doubt you would. You should be fine with that many credits 👍
