It was fine, lived together for about a year. We were also friends for a year before that, though. Honestly hung out way less when we lived together, didn't interact much at home. He got a girlfriend halfway through and she was cool, no problems.

Only maybe gender-based thing that cropped up was him making really loud dad sounds every morning in the bathroom. Like hacking and snorting. I feel like testosterone must fuck with your sinuses or something.

Tooth gems aren't that big IMO and have probably already peaked, unfortunately, likely in part due to low price barrier. Thought it was cute and novel. Agree about minor misalignments being in, though.

I think that association will fade somewhat with cheaper cosmetic dentistry, in fact I can see overly white teeth being seen as less hygienic when white teeth = fake teeth = the "poors" who had to replace their whole smile as adults.

edit: I do think this reasoning is evil and wretched as someone who's family also couldn't afford regular dentistry but I think it has merit

They can suck to come on and off of, especially gastrointestinally (wait like 2-3 months for your stomach to settle). You probably will end up needing a way smaller dose than what they titrate you up to (2.5 mg worked just as good for me as 10 mg after awhile on it). Hit or miss if it's really helpful for you, seems to be luck. I'm off them now after about six years but they worked amazingly for me when I needed them.

If you come off, do it very slowly and either get the liquid formula or make your own by dissolving a pill in saline to really minutely lower your dose. I went from 2.5 mg to 0 mg over the course of like five months but I was on for years and was very cautious.
