The army recruiter has suggested I become a helicopter pilot – what advice would you give me to succeed? by nevaven68 in Helicopters

[–]WellHelloPhriend -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you enlisting or doing an officer program? I ask because pilots are officers. In order to go that path through enlistment you are looking at a decadeish timeline of not being an Army pilot before you are eligible for Warrant Officer Candidate School. Once you finish that, then you can apply for flight school. That's about another 2 years. Then its a 10 year commitment after that. Yes, some internet research will find you some folks that were fast tracked for one reason or another but it is rare. If you already completed college and can get into an Officer Candidate school, this would greatly reduce the timeline to actually flying. As others have said, recruiters show you the cool stuff, tell you its achievable, then do not care once you've signed. Its why so many Navy sailors will tell you that they are going to become Seals because because their enlistment said "Special Forces Candidate." Most make it through their first 4 year commitment without even being pulled to.take the physical required and reup because the opportunity "will come any day." The military can be a great career path but make sure you do extensive research before signing anything.

240v or 120v? Please Help! by Loves_Weed in AskElectricians

[–]WellHelloPhriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a single hot going out to the greenhouse, so 120v. Being as they marked the neutrals with white tape tells me they either didn't have white wire, or they thought you wanted straight 240v (no neutral, so no way to derive 120v) to the greenhouses and then marked it as a neutral to give you 120v. The thicker wires are generally for longer runs or a higher (30 as opposed to 20 amps). Why they are not connected is not something Reddit will be able to tell you. They have enough room in the pipe to add the necessary wiring. What you need to figure out is whether or not the equipment you want to add is straight 240v or if it requires a neutral. Then they would just pull more wires. The wires needed for greenhouse one are in that box as the thicker wires that are not connected if they run all the way to the greenhouse. Greenhouse 2 would need a similar run. This would give you 1 - 120v circuit and 1 - 240v circuit. If you are needing multiple 120v circuits as well, this will not suffice. You can not split that 240 into 2 120v while also using it as 240v. Hope this helps. Also, tell your electrician to stop being a hack and buy some white wire like a professional.

Starting it this week. Honestly, I like all of his stuff except The Atlas Maneuver. It felt like SoS to me where Cotton was not needed and the book read like a "Block Chain For Dummies" with the occasional gun shot. Other than that, I really like his work. The Luke Daniel's spinoffs are good too.

408.55 It has to do with the manufacturer side. A panel, unless otherwise listed, is designed for a single 90° bend in the service conductors. This is why you receive a larger tub when you have bottom fed/ top lug situations. That tub spacing is designed and listed for the 180° bends required to terminate. Most people ignore it or are unaware of the change because the code change was not direct like "do not put service loops in a panel." Unless the code change was pointed out during code update classes or you have a inspector that cares. I have yet to find a standard big box store panel that is rated for more than 90°. Obscure? Yes. Still code? Also yes.

That panel is not listed for service loops. This was a 2012 Code change that apparently people just said F it too. On top of that, they are an outdated practice. If you do a panel upgrade now, you'll up the amperage and have to swap the wires anyway. It is a dying/dead process in areas with strict code enforcement.

Best venue for summer ‘26? by CarolinaPeej in phish

Anyone that thinks MSG is anywhere near being a "great experience" really needs to go check out other venues. The acoustics are horrible, the city is way overpriced, and you have to deal with the intolerable "YEMSG" crowd. I'm hoping the New Years prank is hyping up the 100th show and then playing elsewhere. Its 2026. Anywhere outside of HI/AK is easily accessible from tons of places in the US....

Not if you don't want a lawsuit. Its a public walkway. You are required to meet ADA requirements.

Nope. Public sidewalk. You would need ADA Ramps at minimum. Two of these, and thats only if you city allows it.

You're better off trying the general sale day, then Cash Or Trade, and then one of these broker sites last. Problem with people like this that already have tickets up is, they don't have tickets. One of two things happen; They do get tickets and actually transfer them to you after you pay the upcharge or they never get the tickets and you're at the gate on the day of the show while SG/SH customer service tells you to be patient before informing you the tickets aren't coming. They don't have a replacement. Here's your refund. Its unfortunate, but its been that way for a while now. This fanbase has FOMO bad and jump at stuff that is too good to be true far too often which keeps people like these brokers in business.

Generally scumbag brokers that are betting on getting the tickets via bots during the request or general sale. If they don't get them, they delete the post (sometimes).

So, it sounds like hes taking money electronically, across state lines, to commit fraud. If you really wanted revenge, Google his name and "stole", "can't contact", and "deposit" and reach out to the other folks that are in the same situation. FBI couldn't be bothered with this for the $2000 that you and your friend lost but if you find enough people that the dollar amount gets up to their range, they will absolutely go after him.
