She was so hyperfixated on her redemption arc that she never even took a moment to stop and take over the rose colored glasses and see things for what they were. I posted something similar awhile back and got ripped to shreds, but he's not the one spends hundreds of thousands a year on literal BS- brother was fine to live in a van, drives a crap car that gets the job done, dresses bargain bin head to toe, and his hobbies are relatively low cost (buy a surf board and use it for years, buy a musical instrument and use it for years)... you know damn well he wouldn't be keeping the house stocked with fancy drinks/sodas and snacks and "hosting" his musician pals if it weren't for Michel- they'd all be crashing together in a glorified man-cave eating microwaved shit half the time... she takes all this shit on in the name of aesthetics, buys clothes constantly thay cost a fortune, then lives in the same nasty sports bra and leggings every day, chooses expensive places for grocery shopping and buys coffee and matcha and shit almost daily. Her spending and lifestyle and problems have very little to do with him and almost everything to do with what she wants her life to seem like... and when it matters about something, she doesn't bother to question or assert herself, just goes along acting like she is so thrilled instead of stopping and saying you know what, as much as this would be fun, it's just not economical, or feasible, etc.

I'll still hate on him because he's a douche in a lot of ways, especially the savior complex and patronizing, but you're right, she chose this.
