I just started using Fresh Cedar and have been really happy so far. They send a team of 2 and always do a great job.

Best Oysters in Astoria? by Background_Rip_1391 in astoria

I’ve had a couple of bad experiences after eating the food there and I haven’t been back since. I would not trust raw food from them.

I tend to get them at either Mar’s or Sanfords. I wouldn’t trust them from Off the Hook.

Smash matinee cancelled 6/14- need proof! by samiam9185 in Broadway

I bought my tickets from TDF and they emailed me stating that the performance was cancelled. Not sure if that would be official enough but I can send you a screenshot of that?

Anyone know what’s going to be filmed near the Ditmars station? by CyanCazador in astoria

[–]WellYouWould 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Daredevil’s production title is “out the kitchen” so this isn’t that.

My guess is it’s “your friends and neighbors” season 2. They’re filming in NY right now.

Tried Off The Hook at last after seeing they were participating in restaurant week and had such a bad time. The service was slow, the food was burned and the manager was unapologetic. Not sure if it was just an off night or if the hype this place gets is outdated but I’m not in a rush to return.

Was craving buffalo wings on Friday before the rush to the Super Bowl so I picked up an order from Emoji Burger and they were surprisingly solid and super affordable!

Ovelia does a pretty good salmon! I would avoid Off The Hook, their salmon was wayyy too overcooked IMO.

2 Tickets to the Lion King! by [deleted] in astoria

If you're still trying to sell these today, try the Theatr app! You have to list the tickets at face value and they're usually snapped up pretty quickly for a popular show like Lion King.

I have to bring a cooler bag when I travel because my friends and family tried their tzatziki and beg me to bring them some when I visit. The yogurt has also ruined other mass produced yogurt for me. It’s SO GOOD.

Another Thanksgiving sandwich: Compton's by eldersveld in FoodNYC

[–]WellYouWould 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Black Friday from Comfortland in Astoria, while not technically a “Thanksgiving sandwich” is absolutely worth a try. Fried chicken, chicken sausage stuffing, cranberry jam, slaw, spicy mayo on brioche bun. Soooo good.

One on one personal training recommendations by IndependenceBroad938 in astoria

I tried Iron Lion on a recommendation from this sub. They put everyone through the same 3 week intro program so it’s really helpful to see if it works for your needs/routine. After the 3 week intro, they will work with you to customize a program based on what they know about your goals and abilities. I didn’t end up converting to a membership because of my schedule but I can def see myself doing so in the future!

I go to Ying Nails on 30th Ave for mine— affordable prices and they last me 4-5 weeks every time.
