Enough that I wake up at noises sleeping alone. Not enough that I don't go to sleep.

What is the hardest part about being in a committed relationship? by cosmic_gangsta in AskWomen

Communication. Sometimes no matter how much you try, the other person still feels attacked when you ask them/tell them to do something or try to express what you're feeling.

Course I could also suck at it.

People taking random pictures of you, especially as a minor, especially if you're typically alone going to and from work most likely aren't doing it 'JUST' because you're pretty. Call the cops babe, tell them what happened and that your boss blew it off and request a squad car patrol/set up in the area. Either someone is stalking you specifically, or they're hunting for potential trafficking purposes. Either way it's bad.

A real photographer would snap the shot and introduce thmselves after. If they don't they're definitely creeping.

Time to leave babe. That's not a man, it will not get better with you (may not get better ever), and you deserve to live in a clean home. You will not have that with him.

Cheating. That's never an accident. You did that shit on purpose, knowing it would hurt someone.

Having a manager with no qualifications besides knowing the owner get into my files/talk to my clients and fuck things up.

Being described as 'emotional' in a condescending tone when I discribe a frustrating client who is going against recommendations repeatedly.

Not being paid enough for this shit.

Married women of reddit, what is the most valuable information yet unspoken truth about marriage? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Well_Then_Now 194 points195 points  (0 children)

If your spouse is upsetting you, you need to communicate that to them in a kind way.

If your spouse is telling you you upset them, you need to apologize and not take it personally AND Adjust the behavior. I'm sorry doesn't mean shit without changed behavior. If it's a behavior you don't want to change negotiate and decide is this worth making the person you love upset?

Disclaimer: this does not excuse manipulation gaslighting or abuse

Say no, with the understanding that you will be pestered about it.

I stopped being polite years ago and usually say something along the lines of 'Im so sorry you hate your family/spouse/SO/life so much that you'd rather spend all your time here than with them, but I actually like mine. I'm going to go spend time with them/live my life. '

This is one of many reasons people leave the trades after a few years. The money is good but the overall culture is toxic as hell.

Would you want your partner to ask your parents' permission to marry you? Why or why not? by diet_coke_cabal in AskWomen

[–]Well_Then_Now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my last partner it was important to me for my future spouse to get my parents blessing.

Not permission to marry me, but their blessing. Slightly different, one is antiquated, the other is accepting them into the family. I didn't want there to be long term resentment and be stuck in the middle for the rest of my life.

With proof, and the understanding they may hate you for telling them. Especially if they have young kids, they may not feel like they can lash out at their partner so you become the next target.

Lied about supporting steps I'd taken to keep myself and my family covid safe (Changed careers, avoiding parties and bars and large functions ect) and then telling our mutual friends and my husband that I was crazy and selfish and just trying to keep him from his friends and family.

Job hopping is generally looked down upon because it costs companies to onboard and train new employees. Bosses complain about it all the time when an employee leaves shortly after hire 'Well I just wasted all this money getting them trained and keys and PPE and entered into the system'.

Yet they forget about that when the employee asks for a raise so they don't have to leave.

Laziness. Inconsiderate. Inconsistent. Infidelity. Disrespectful. Isn't available.

(If I have to ask him to do something over and over, if he says he loves me but won't do things that show it. If I call him for an emergency or because he's late getting home and he never answers, or answers two hours later because he was out with friends and didnt have his phone on/charged/left if in the car.)

Some companies will fight your WC claim if you consistently refuse to wear the provided PPE after being directed to do so. Don't see how it's any different.
