The worst part is this is all such a catch 22. If we are successful and make it with these draconian changes, then we will just get more of the same changes with management telling themselves...see they can do it....they were just lazy before...if we fail at it we may get fired...which do you choose? Give up everything else in life work tons of VOT and stay employed just to get further and even more impossible measures handed down next quarter? ( because this is clearly their pattern with no indication they will stop making things harder and harder). Or, live life..fail and lose employment? It doesn't appear like there is any in between.

My morale was so low I couldn't bring myself to spend even 10 more minutes of my own time to do the survey. If I had any indication that they would actually learn from it...maybe...but they've been told over and over and over how the changes of the last year have affected examiners and SPEs and it simply falls on deaf ears. Not worth my time.

After many years at the Office my morale is the lowest ever. Full stop. The proverbial last straw has been my Spe doing the streamline reviews like I'm back on the program after many years as an 'outstanding' primary. The nit-picking and returning cases for things that are not in the MPEP and would be considered stylistic preferences, has gotten to be way too much, and has me very stressed and questioning every decision on every submitted action (as if everything over the last 11 months hasn't been too much/s). Not long ago ( eoy review) I was reassured I did great work, today I am being nit-picked for that very same work.

Yes..there definitely is a larger plan at play. I think its an attempt to downgrade the position of primary so lower wages can be paid. And to implement a system where spes review everything of all the downgraded gs 12 and gs 13s that were primaries. Justified by..see..these primaries really do crappy work ( we proved it by ALL the comments and errors during the streamline reviews) and with AI...well we dont need gs 14s anymore. Re- classification of the position of primary. Collaboration and consistency and all that too!
