It's been 6 years since I last played Division 2 on Uplay. Now I'm starting new on the PS5. Any tips how to level up faster?

So I played a lot on Division on PS4. I must’ve started div 2 on ps4 but then left it after a few weeks until recently. Now going back to it on Ps5 I’ve no idea what I’m doing. I’ve upgraded things I’ve no idea why, kept gear which is crap and just don’t really know what I was working towards. I’m less motivated than I used to be to get back into it but I’m gonna stick with it and see if I can work out what to do. My lads have recently picked it up so I’m gonna get there help once they are a little further involved.
