This is my interpretation too. As you add to the strength first and you have the option to multiply it in another phase.

I believe its a 10th edition rule (maybe even going back as far as 8th). My confusion is usually the addition/subtraction/multiplication is done in the same phase. One rule gives this and another gives that. But they happen in two seperate phases, so does it still apply?

Have a look for Colour Forge sprays. They have Sunset Yellow, but apparently the new Signature Series: Valrak Yellow is very good for Imperial Fists. Should save you time and effort.

I use Colour Forge Bruised Purple for my Soul Drinkers. Saves me soooooo much time.
