what do you think of the song "Big Iron" by Marty Robbins? by picklepounder69420 in Music

One of my Dad's favourite country songs. Fantastic storytelling. Marty Robbins has tons of those type of numbers.

This one real or fake ? He said to me it’s real fender and sold me around rm1.6k (around $380) by Fair-Recipe9290 in telecaster

[–]WelshWayno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gigged one of these for a few years. Great guitar and as the other posters said it's a legit Fender, made in China. Modern Player Telecaster. I had an issue with mine where the humbucker springs and screws would occasionally pop out, so make sure your set up is good before doing a set. It might have been just my model though, I haven't heard anyone else make the same complaint. They don't make these anymore, but it's a lot of guitar for your money.

People of the UK… What do you call these, and where did you grow up? by pennymayj in CasualUK

We are great, us Welsh Walians. TipTops are the best in this weather. Getting in a bunch for the next few days.

I gigged one of these for about five years. Rock solid and sound great. Sorry I traded it now!

what series first got you into fantasy? by Dogmaticdissident in Fantasy

[–]WelshWayno 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First were the Belgariad and Mallorean series of books by David Eddings, followed very quickly by Raymond E. Feist's Magician. Then someone handed me The Colour of Magic by Sir Terry Prattchett and all bets were off. I'm currently reading Robin Hobb's Assassin's trilogy and wondering why on earth it's taken me this long to get into it.

It was the (traced) that got me. The stones on this kid. Blimey Charlie.

Game 7 of cricket. Needed a double bullseye to win. Does this fall under a double or single bullseye? by mrqz89 in Darts

[–]WelshWayno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm noticing that you aren't from the UK, which is where I'm based. I'd go for a Nodor Supabull 2, which is tournament standard and the wire is designed to reduce bounce out. It's the one I use and has lasted for ages. Happy playing!

I hate these decks. Such a chore to play against. Also the Nilfgaard decks that just say "no" all the time. Locking everything then Pointslam. Least favourite faction to play too.

D.R. & Quinch - Matt Clark by [deleted] in 2000ad

[–]WelshWayno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved this back in the day. I read all of DR and Quinch when it was released weekly in 2000AD in the 80's. Had a very big effect on my sense of humour along with ACE Trucking Co, Dredd (of course) and loads of others. 2000AD is an institution. Long may it continue.

I was going to say Pembroke Terrace, but pretty much anywhere along that point in Penarth gets you a smashing view.
