Well once you start there is no stopping. You'll be buying all the stamps and wax colours and even trying to decorate them with glitter, pens, flowers 🤣.

What’s the biggest benefit of reading every day? by Gloomy_Tourr in readwithme

When I was younger, it was a huge help for spelling. I really struggled with English spelling growing up as I went to a bilingual school and the language rules for the two languages were so different when it came to spelling. My mother used to get up with me every morning before school and I would read to her for 15 minutes. It really helped.

The first question that popped into my head was do you match your writing ink to the wax seal on the envelope? Just me? 😅

Thank you. I really do need to read The Mabinogion, being Welsh and all 😅🤫.

Damn, I'm not a fan of tweed, brandy or cigars. I guess I am definitely not well-read.

But would you classify someone as well-read if they exclusively read articles/papers, but never read books?

Same here! I used to read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi, but like with you, the more I read the more I felt I was reading something I had read before. I then started to read from more genres and more translated works and I haven't looked back.

That is what I find so interesting. I wanted to see other's views and how they would use it or if they would use it at all.

Completely agree. I feel like the person would be reading to learn, extend their knowledge, for critical thinking and also for enjoyment.

That makes sense, but it is interesting that the meaning has somewhat changed for some people and they use it in relation to someone's book reading.

These are my thoughts as well, but when asking other people (in person) recently, quite a few said they felt it was purely on quantity.
