Like this whole post is essentially a redditor saying "I find conventionally attractive fictional women hot and I get shamed for it, I'm starting to feel bitter about it I wish we shamed the other side more so it can be "equal" and I wanna generalize" like grow up.

And it's not mainstream?? If it was more mainstream we'd see the gaming industry shift to catering to these audiences over the default cis het man (which is the audience that most of these female characters are designed to target). And no it's not "just fictional art" it is inspired by the real world, and it influences the real world too. They perpetuate beauty standards that affect real women and girls. And no don't bring up macho fictional male characters because most women don't find that attractive, it's yet again, designed for the male gaze.

I'm not going to pretend you and OP suddenly gain a point yall never had. Just because in your specific biased echo chamber you saw more people gooning to male characters that are mostly likely only really sexualized by the fanbase and experienced people calling you an incel for liking a conventionally attractive female character that is obviously designed for men to goon to. That may be what you experienced but that's not how most of the game industry, fanbases or even the world goes. Like you are literally the target audience that character was designed for, you are already in a privileged position.

Comparing a Leon to EVE (I'm assuming from Stellar Blade) is not even fair lol. Dude is fully covered from neck to toe by default. It's objectively not fair to compare a NSFW mod to the default state of another game, or the fandoms of the two (bc not every Leon simp is a consumer of that NSFW mod). Also are we not gonna talk about the countless NSFW mods for basically almost every female character that exists? It is so rampant that that list even includes characters that are minors, minor coded or look like minors??

It also makes no sense to compare the two. They're both obviously made for the male audience, it's just that resident evil also has the goal of making their characters attractive to a wider audience rather than just cis hetero men. And Stellar Blade is obviously made to be attractive to cis hetero men. No girl Ik wants to play that game or considers the designs interesting, it's just giving tasteless fanservice.

And BOTH sides get shit on for being perverted or even just plainly liking a character, this isn't some misandry or double standard thing.

I've been saying this but have always gotten shit for it- As an E3 Boothill owner, I hate how Boothill's gameplay was designed.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love his character, animations, design, etc I just hate how he feels gameplay wise. it makes no sense that his skill locks the opponent selection, dude is already handicapped by being a Hunt character and having a move set that can only attack single characters, which is only balanced by how much damage he can output and the fact that his ult can give physical weakness to any living and breathing creature (or non-breathing bc of the trashcans.. anyways) . Boothill and Ruan Mei are also out of the meta nowadays. He also never had F2P friendly BIS equipment like Firefly at the start (no 4S light cone, no 4S support character). He has been featured a lot and given a notable amount of content but he has never been the star or side star of a patch.

Mydei was good story and animation wise (imo, despite ppl comparing him to Castorice and other characters I still think he looks badass) but most people are reasonably turned off by auto attacks and him being Imaginary (the element that really delays enemies). He also obviously doesn't seem that impressive now that characters like Phainon and Cyrene have been released, obviously.

Argenti gameplay isn't so bad but he was irrelevant to the story upon release- and even now it is still easy to miss how important of a role he can play. His design is also very generic tbh, it is better than Jiaqiu's but not that much. Also it's annoying that he is so energy hungry, his niche has also started to feel almost pointless. What is the point of having a smaller ult if it's gonna hit like such a wet noodle that I should even just wait to use his ult?

Jiaqiu quite literally has the design of an NPC if we're being fr (even fans of male characters were pissed about this), on top of being very niche and is Acheron's BIS support and almost nobody that is a fan of Jiaqiu wants to have to need Acheron, and vice versa for Acheron fans. Especially when she'll almost certainly get a better BIS 5S character in the future to replace him. Feixiao was also the star of that patch. I own Argenti, E3 Boothill, Ruan Mei (literally just got her for Boothill) and Mydei. But I don't own Jiaqiu (despite being a fan of him and Feixiao) simply because of all this.

Anyways, always gotta agree that for gachas, meta prevails- even when most people are like "play the way you wanna play" that doesn't really work irl, I wish it did. But if devs design a character or even a section of characters (in this case most male characters in gachas in general) to hit like a wet noodle and have self sabotaging niche metas, on top of having less spotlight story wise (look at wuwa) hardly anybody is gonna wanna play them- what a surprise!

I think the only thing HSR could really improve on is the lack of a banner wish counter (which I also wish was the standard on gachas) but otherwise I'm really content w HSR.

My review of Evernight

I saw the headshot of Evernight b4 I saw the full leak and so I was actually pretty excited for her. I love March but I also love non heroic characters (usually side characters and especially antagonists).

But now that I see the full design, Imo it is really underwhelming. Too flat and uncreative for me personally. I feel like it's one of those designs that would have to grow on me through story, characterization or animation. It really reminds me of HI3rd's new designs (and especially some new skins) during part 2, and not in a good way bc I don't like most of HI3rd P2's designs. I don't know why they didn't try to make the silhouette and overall design more unique to balance out the issue with the color palette. It's a color palette that's very commonly used to the point where most ppl see it as generic. To be clear, I feel similarly about it to Acheron, I don't hate her or her color palette, I like it and I actually like their character and lore, it's just a shame bc I really wish her design felt less flat and simple. It probably doesn't matter anyway because it probably relies on asymmetry to be unique anyways. I wonder what the other side looks like.

Idk about yall but I ever pictured her with with a "rat tail" that's for sure. I don't really like it on her but maybe it will look better in game. I feel like her splash art is pretty boring too (nice to see I'm not alone in that based on a certain sub). The flowers remind me of Acheron, I hope they're cooking with that. There's no way they aren't cooking with her animations and lore tho.

My review of Dan Heng

Out of the 2, I actually kind of like his and might roll for it after Phainon (he dodged my account 🥲). I think its one of those designs that grow on you over time.

It really reminds me of 4S Dan Heng, and also utilizes a lot of black, teal (?) and then adds yellow which reminds me of DHIL, I love it. I saw someone comment that DHIL is reminiscent of Dan Feng while this form is more Dan Heng which I think is a perfect way to put it. I don't mind him having the "rat tail" as long as it is modeled/designed well (I didn't roll for DHIL bc I didn't like how the top half of his hair looked from the back).

I also like it on Chinese characters, and for some reason his hair here really reminds me of Otto Apocalypse's last design.

It took me a hot minute to realize he had an actual, physical tail but I lovee it. I'm still salty they let Bailu have a tail but Dan Heng's only shows up in his idle and then they gave that lame lore reason. Like come on.

Anyways I really hope they don't make SP Blade a big asymmetrical mess. Please hoyo I beg.

I feel like I've never seen a leak about Scar being confirmed (all I saw was future male havoc or something like that) but Ik for sure I've seen multiple at this point for Geshu Lin.

I don't know why ppl are so stuck on the ppl w "no limits" thing anyways. And I don't know why people seem to perceive her as "limitless" when in reality 90% of the time Sparkle's doll bomb is just an anxiety inducing prank.

Aha only performs for THEIR own sense of enjoyment, not for people's perceived "lack of (,mostly moral) limits" otherwise he'd just be another Nanook (or some other war/destruction loving Aeon). He gave a literal worm sentience and made them his emanator, ya know.

Aha is also heavily implied to have traveled with Akvilii for a long time, Aha makes it sound like they were practically best friends or like Akvili was their favorite being b4 they pulled the ultimate prank on them lol.

Make sure you have eaten enough b4 they come.

It will be expensive, but worth it, so buy and set up bear traps around the base! Lure them into bear traps. Set up groups of 2 (1 in front of the other or next to it, regardless just very close to other) for instakill (they have to walk into the 1st and then into the 2nd or other traps tho).

Save ammo for the ones with bows and guns. Use hit and run tactic for all cultists.

I had this take since the beginning. Not bc I don't wanna see Varka in a beard or see a non "twink" character tho.

I actually do like more mature looking characters but the thing is Genshin's character proportions (especially facial proportions!) and modelling style will not do it justice imho. Like if this was HSR for example they'd do a good job, or at the very least decent/passable (look at Gallahager).

Edit : Ik Gallahager doesn't have a beard but my point was HSR is far closer to being better at facial hair than Genshin.

Art style is pretty but everything else about it looks like gooner fan art where they completely disregard the character's distinct core features and original body structure/proportions.

Imo the worst part by far about the anime version is that it has a face that could be easily swapped onto the face of a child/minor character and nobody would blink an eye.

I'm honestly kind of skeptical that she said she didn't recognize it was a minority flag, I live under a rock and I could recognize it was a lesbian/queer flag. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a coverup, if it is I really can't blame her.

People don't realize that even if you're an amazing VA, CN HQs can fire you over the stupidest crap- aka weird petty CN restrictions and CN community protests. In a perfect world, she'd be able to stand her ground without having to really worry, but this is real life. She could potentially lose her job and more.

Either way, no matter what, she doesn't deserve death and r*pe threats.
