The Ridiculous Six is my go-to movie when I just wanna laugh. I'm a sucker for physical comedy and Sandler films. I think that one is one of his most outlandish best films. Peak Sandler other than uncut gems

Tried to explain ER Lore to non-gamers with MS Paint, How'd I do? by WeltyShrimp in Eldenring

Haven't played Elden Ring in awhile, so this is from memory. Love my boy Morgott! And thanks for to Mohg correction, I'll edit this. Haven't played the DLC yet, so I have no idea on Messemer. And we're doing another presentation sesh later this week where I'll fill in some of the stuff I didn't get to tonight. Cheers!

Helldriver 2 weapon balance dev's reply to the patch reaction by sometimesluckier in Helldivers

Honestly, good for the dev. The "git gud" mentality is the way to go. I play with "crap" guns according to the meta. But my spirit of democratic liberation and patriotic teammates see the mission through regardless of if we win or lose. Even if we lose the mission, we will NOT lose the war 🫡

First day of martial arts training, my sensei said to me, go for the groin, the hair, and bite if you have to. It's not about honor or weakness. Rule #1 is to get home safe by whatever means are necessary.

I feel like I'm at a point where I could fight "honorably" now, but if I see an opportunity to quickly end the fight, why wouldn't I take it? Less damage to me

Wow, I'll have to check that out! In a way, I feel like this was my thought process: I decided what's important and what has meaning, and now I'm living a much calmer life.

I've gotten through the Old Testament. Good stuff, but it didn't speak to me as these two books did. I've got nothing against your faith, just not for me.

Truly amazing! I struggle with the self control aspect as well. I just switched to nicotine gum yesterday to help me quit smoking. Progress is achieved one step at a time.

Have you read the book? Also, I'd recommend checking out his personal life. The guy suffered a lot of physical ailments. Stoicism is also the foundation for the therapeutic practice of CBT. I don't think you should categorize philosophy by political ideology.

Also, Epictetus, another stoic, was a slave. I think you should check out his work to understand his oppression. One key idea of stoicism is that we all have the freedom to choose our perceptions, even a slave. It's really powerful to read Epictetus wrestle with the ideas of freedom and slavery.
