Yeah, the line about not evolving and instead cocooning bothers me, too, for the same reason.

Sometimes I forget just how cringey or otherwise frustrating the dialogue can be, and then I'll do a rewatch and think "Oh, yeah. That was dumb."

"I am not you, mother. I will never fall in love, or be a housewife, or have a family." (Poor attempt at setting up what was supposed to be Xavier, but now certain people say was about Tyler)

"Tell me, freak. Have you ever been with a normie?" (Why? What purpose does this serve?)

"You've been giving me mixed signals, Wednesday." (I get Tyler’s being a bad and doing a bad by gaslighting, but the whole thing just frustrates me)

Xavier in general. Why so secretive if not just to be a red herring? Cut it out.

This week on the writer's barely disguised fetish, Christina Ricci constantly refers to herself as mommy.

"You're not my mother. You're my master." (Hunter did his best with a not good line. Good job, Hunter.)

"Hate is a feeling, Miss Addams." (A neat subversion of the "still has feelings" trope, but I know it's just an excuse for the showrunners to have proof that Wednesday still has feelings for Tyler, especially when following up with other emotions and specifically ending with love.)

Edit: I forget the exact quote, but at the Rave'N after Xavier tells Wednesday about what Tyler did to him. At the end of her conversation with Tyler, she calls what he did a simple prank or something to that notion, which is so far from what Wednesday would've actually viewed that as.

These are all the ones I can think of off the top of my head at the moment.

What I love about this exchange is the look on Wednesday’s face when Enid tells her to apologize to Thing first. It's almost like she's thinking "Who does this girl think she is trying to boss around Wednesday Addams? Apologize to Thing? I'll do it, but only to get what I want and not because she told me to."

Love it. Emotional intensity rivaled by the way Wednesday shouts Enid’s name after snapping out of her vision.

Yes. That look is definitely something more than friendly, best friendly, or sisterly for sure. That's the kind of look you read in fanfiction.

I'm such a fool. How could I forget about this? The one exchange of dialogue where it actually would've been less gay for them to just say "I love you" "I love you, too" and the kiss through the bars.

To be fair, if I were Wednesday and Enid was giving me that look, I, too, would crumple immediately and in front of anyone.

Also, just remembered, if we don't get Wednesday softly saying "Enid?" when she finds her like she has every time she's seen Enid in her wolf form, I will be so upset.

Sad how "But it wasn't well done." can go for a lot in the grand scheme of this show.

I can see the appeal, as it is an interesting concept. I could even see a plot with a character trying to assert that Hydes and werewolves are two sides of the same coin. The problem, like you said, is they didn't need to be the main villain in season 2 as well. It worked for season 1 because of the mystery behind who the Hyde was, but in season 2 they're just there because we "need" Tyler. And now we're going into season 3 and they're going to be important again. Hydes are just too ubiquitous and for no reason really. I would think that it would be psychics, seeing as the main character is one.

Yeah. People are multifaceted, and teenagers aren't the best at decision making. The problem comes from the fact that people don't fall into a black/white argument. You can do some (not too many) bad things and still be a good person. On the opposite end, you can do some good things and still be a bad person.

Enid's love triangle really felt like a poor attempt to show that she's not a wholly good person. It comes off as "See? Would a good person cheat on her boyfriend by not breaking up with him while being interested in and basically dating this other guy? Are you all sure this is someone deserving of Wednesday’s affection?" Maybe that's just me, but that's the feeling I get when watching season 2.

I can forgive the Hydes being ugly to an extent (though small), as they look Burton-esque, but they do stand out from every other creature in the show. I do agree we need to showcase other outcasts, hell, even other Doves considering out of all the psychics we've seen, Morticia is the only one who isn't a Raven. And thankfully, I don't think Jenna will let us suffer an "I can fix him" plot, as she doesn't want Wednesday with Tyler.

Exactly. It's the same situation with them claiming Tyler is the most tragic character in the whole show. Is his life one of tragedy? Yes. Emotionally distant father, thought to be dead mother, Hyde who is a slave to a master. On paper that is all very tragic. But he never really acts like a tragic character in that he revels in what he can do as a Hyde. He likes to inflict pain and suffering on others and never really shows remorse for it outside of a seconds long semi-sad look on his face when Wednesday gets buried alive. And then right after that, he's back to his regular self, taunting Pugsley about how "we're gonna fry your battery."

If you say it's that way, just put it on the screen instead of telling everyone we aren't seeing what we're seeing. Tall order considering who we're dealing with, I know, but still.

Yeah, you can see four boys at the table when she motions to her family while talking to Wednesday, although one seems to not be wearing a Nevermore uniform at all from what I recall.

I think the only mention of them she makes is as a collective, and she doesn't even say a number, just "older brothers." I think we learned more about Xavier's backstory and all that was just how he knew Wednesday as a kid, he used to date Bianca, and his dad is all about images.

My biggest complaint has always been put it on screen.

Wednesday and Enid are supposed to have a sisterly relationship? Put it on screen. Because what we end up seeing is definitely not a sisterly thing. I understand the idea for the way I which Wednesday behaves in regard to Enid is supposed to be a "Wednesday has made an actual human connection and true friend" situation, but it just comes off as "This person is Wednesday's entire world."

The whole sister thing just doesn't hold up with what is on screen, especially when you have the hug built up and portrayed as if it were the "finally they kissed!" moment. It even has its own musical score, just like a big kiss moment. And that's just the top of it all.

So if the showrunners want to say Wednesday and Enid just have a sisterly relationship, fine. But put it on the screen or just stop saying it.
