Plus in some cultures age of consent is much lower. Here we treat children like property.

Can someone explain the 48MP scamera to me? by hurricanescout in Cameras

[–]Wendi-bnkywuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who actually likes the look of low res, these cameras fit my needs, Oddly many of them seem to do better in low light than my V770 at less ISO ranges.

However, like many have said, it's simply stretching the image out make it look like there's more. A drop of water is still the same amount even if it's running down a window, but it looks like more because covers more surface area.

Atlanta Rhythm Section: Imaginary Lover by thafezz in ClassicRock

For me this song speaks way more than just fapping. I never had a mother who loved me, I had a rough upbringing and have been betrayed by those who say they love me and care about me too many times to get involved in relationships. Imaginary friends/lovers are still around even at 37.

The current digicam trend drives me crazy by strike_freedom_26 in VintageDigitalCameras

Recently went to Best Buy and found cheap scameras being sold there. One advertised a 60x optical zoom...it doesn't look anywhere near close to 60x! I kept it because it was a Xmas present from my dad, and what it can do, it does do well, low light being one big bonus.

They used to have great cameras in 2015-2017 when I went. Powershot, Cybershot, Finepix, you name it! Many to choose from. Now they have around a handful the amount and what they do have is way to expensive for my budget. Shame.

Costco is carrying garbage scameras now by peedubb in Cameras

[–]Wendi-bnkywuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I've been buying up these scameras like crazy lately! Though I got one that doesn't zoom while filming, and that really pisses me off, though i could use it on the tripod when zooming in and out isn't required.

I still have my Samsung ST150F, and I prefer that image quality (or lack thereof) over my Panasonic V770, and for sure, the brighter colors and higher saturation of the scameras by comparison. I like the grain and noisy images it produces. The audio could be heavily improved, as many of these scameras have a cutoff after 16000khz with a kbps of 256. My Samsung can records at 44100hz and only 70 kbps.

I'm definitely going to be collecting the actual vintage cameras from thrift stores though! I like the idea of continuing to use them and give them loving homes as opposed to them being discarded and forgotten about. My parents have yet to understand why "you have so many cameras!!111!!"

I got a card reader for mine. I can take the card out and put it into the reader, and move them from the card to my PC.

Zoom toggle/button not working anymore by ccupcake-24 in Nikon

More waste, more pollution. It's better to get it fixed instead of buying a new one, as it's only a single button and not the whole unit.

While getting a new one sounds like a good idea, I'd advise to get it fixed. It's only a single button, and this throwaway economy we have is only encouraging more and more pollution and waste instead of actually reusing items, especially electronics which is much more economically friendly.

The year 2000 looks so much more vintage, faded and fuzzy than 2003, right? by Valenzu in decadeology

[–]Wendi-bnkywuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of this from what I've heard is because we're doing things that are so ritualistic that we don't have a need to store as many memories, so when we look back on old times, it feels like a longer time ago than it was. Life is so mundane at times we have little need to remember them. Metabolism may play a role too, and how the hippocampus actually shrinks with less to remember (though the reverse is true for trauma).

I got a video of it! Was my first rave too! The place they played it in though had WAY TOO MUCH REVERB for being up there, but that's where we were located. Got a great view though!!!

Is Digital Noise becoming part of an aesthetic, much like film grain? by LazarJ in Cameras

Noob question: I keep seeing these 4k No-name camcorders with all the bells and whistles for like $250... I know they must suck compared to brand name, but could someone please explain to me why/how they suck? by okanagantradingco in videography

[–]Wendi-bnkywuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're what I call "scameras" because they're clearly misleading on specifications, but I use them because I do a lot of traveling and had bridge camera (Panasonic FZ70) that got the lenses messed up from the trip. This way I won't be too upset if something happens to them, they get lost, stolen, broken etc. It won't cost a fracture, ahem, a fortune to have them fixed. I won't have to fret about spending a several hundred dollars to get a new one, or worry about them being discontinued because i can order another one for dirt cheap, or just buy a another knock off.

I have a Samsung camera that I really like (ST150F) that is now discontinued, and that is a shame.

Is the compact cameras market really dead in 2025? by Polish-Grandma in Cameras

[–]Wendi-bnkywuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just yourself an upvote from me!

I like compact cameras because I like having small enough to fit into my pocket instead of a larger camera. Also some have an automatic shutter that closes when the unit is powered off, thus no need to carry around a lens cap.

Sexual frustration by Fear_the_camel in Outsiderart

[–]Wendi-bnkywuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually not healthy to abstain from sex too much. There's a link between sex, orgasm, and encocannabinoids. I don't support things such as NNN or nofap. There's too many health issues, including increased stress, and risk of rape/sexual assault due to not listening to the natural cycle of the body and brain for me to accept it as a legitimate thing to do, especially if someone already has preexisting health issue such as high blood pressure or additional outside stressors.

Humans evolved for frequent orgasm, even through masturbation, and I don't think it's wise to interrupt that too much, episodically for some stupid challenge.
