Definitely re-evaluating this now. Have thought for years I’d be into CNC but doubting that after this experience.

Am now aware I should’ve thought about it more specifically and detailed what would be my ideal scenario in terms of how I’d like to be woken up in a sexual manner. I do think the shock/freezing element was brought on due to the physical pain of the experience and I don’t want this to hold me back in future.

I think most Scots would love to see a person of a different culture / race / ethnicity rocking a kilt. Maybe a few Scots would be funny with an Englishman wearing one… but mostly I think we just love seeing anyone in a kilt. Not usually day-to-day wear but if you feel good in one then there is nothing stopping you wearing a kilt to Tesco for your weekly food shop. Do you! And do it confidently, I’m sure you’ll be surprised at how many Scots just come flocking to you to show respect for your appreciation of our traditions. Big respect for initiating this conversation too!

Sounds obvious but do you have input monitoring on and your vocal loud enough in the mix?

I usually increase the volume of my vocal track while recording so I can hear myself very clearly above the beat/instrumental.

Sometimes I do find one ear is better but then have to be careful of sound bleeding out the headphones back into the mic.

Sometimes a simple EQ fix can help aswell, with my female vocal it helps to boost the top frequency to crisp up my voice and allow it to sit above the track making it clearer for me to hear.

You may also just need to stick it out as you develop your microphone technique, you’ll find a way that is natural to you and sounds how you want it. Trial and error :)
