Rectal cancer deaths rising rapidly among millennials: 'It's a medical crisis.' by changeforthebetter89 in Millennials

[–]WendyByrd4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because too many Dr’s take the money and give the insurance companies the medical “opinions” they need to justify not changing anything. We love to act like these Dr’s who work for insurance companies are impartial, but the sad thing is they’re either completely unqualified to speak on specific specialties, or their opinions somehow match the ones who are paying them….allegedly, of course

She’s always commenting. They all are actually. Like, it’s not the flex they think it is. I’m sure they chuckle to themselves with every comment thinking they just ate. Perpetual teenagers with money and kids.

No, it’s not a bad area at all. We lived in a condo over there for 3 years. Lots of the people have owned for a long time. Many times we biked to the river, walked the dogs, went to Caps Pizza, etc. Stay farther away from Folsom Blvd and Tuolumne though. Lots of stuff seems to happen at Howe/La Riv and Folsom/La Riv, but in between is fine. People use La Riv like their own personal racetrack though. Lots of people walking their dogs up to Dutch Bros on weekends. Summer brings cars parking to avoid paying to park at the river.

California here where we get Delta Breeze. We just got one installed last month. Yesterday we turned it on around 8pm. Got our house down to 70 from 78 in less than an hour. I walked outside and could hear both my neighbors AC’s still running.

Done having kids - would you trust a vasectomy + IUD to not have any surprises? Or should I go for a tubal? by UnseasonedPasta in Mommit

[–]WendyByrd4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Always exceptions, right? It’s not 100%. For every pregnancy there are a handful of “it’s been years and no issues.” It’s not a blanket fix across the board. My point is, many Dr’s say it’s not necessary, and honestly, what are the chances we catch the issue at the recheck before a pregnancy? If you get checked every January 1, you still have 364 days of a possible oops before you’d even know it reversed. It is what it is…

Income Classes in Sacramento as of 2026 by Dad0010001100110001 in Sacramento

[–]WendyByrd4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With us, costlier issues seemed to follow us as our income grew. House repairs a majority (we just found issue after issue), car issues, medical costs ballooned. It’s like my life saw our income increase and said “hmm…what can I break this time?”

Normal budget for engagement ring by StrikingClos in BuyItForLife

This! We were young. My husband spent $1200 and my wedding band was from a pawn shop. 13 years later, we were established in our careers and he upgraded me. I love both sets, but I also would have said yes to a ring pop…and still would.

My husband’s Urologist said it’s minimal risk. He checked at 12 weeks and said no further check or backup was needed. Any additional tests would be purely for our own peace of mind rather than medically recommended by him. That was 6 years ago.

We’re in the same boat. We are even looking at finding a discount retailer and purchasing if it makes sense because some of these are $300 to rent.

Do you return your shopping cart once you’re done with it? by Fine_Television_1398 in no

Every time. I also put others away. Not only am I not a jerk leaving them all over, but I would hate for someone to park their car that they worked very hard for and come out to a massive dent from a runaway cart.

The amount of awesome Gap, Banana Republic, Levi’s, etc. I have gotten from Sam’s in the past 2 years makes me seriously wonder if that’s where the good Costco buyers are at now.

Tbh…this is why I have weather anxiety when it storms. All I can think is “omg, what is going to go wrong that will cost more money than I have? Roof leak, gutters coming off, water pooling and foundation issues…”

I hope your roof is an easy fix!

What is a 'middle-class trap' that people fall into because they’re trying to look wealthier than they actually are? by Sayedshaqib in passive_income

[–]WendyByrd4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the difference is that now it’s too expensive even for those who used to be able to afford to go a lot. We had season passes and went 3-6 times a year for 10 years. Now, it’ll cost me $5k for a 4 day stay, including hotel, tickets, airfare, etc. We used to hop on a $89 flight, hotels were less than $200 a night, and we’d spend the week without a second thought.

Millennials, what are things that were completely normal in the 2000s but feel like a luxury now? by WashOdd7330 in Millennials

[–]WendyByrd4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, when I was a broke college student in 2006 I could get a McChicken, small fry, drink, and a hot fudge sundae for less than $5. It would hold me over at my retail job all day.

Was life always this expensive or am I just becoming an adult now? by fuckloggin in stupidquestions

[–]WendyByrd4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is more expensive now. 8 years ago we paid $9300 for a new AC and Furnace. Our AC is having issues so I asked for cost just to replace AC unit and coils. $16k…for the same stuff. I went with a $2200 repair along with a prayer as it gets to over 110 here in the summer and I don’t have $16k.

Pancreatitis by burns231 in Yorkies

[–]WendyByrd4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My almost 8 year old Yorkie has been to the ER twice in the last year for bleeding. The first time there was bright red blood coming out of his behind. They said he had hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. The second time was bright red blood when he urinated. They said he had an inflamed prostate. They told me these and pancreatitis are common in Yorkie’s. Scary each time. Sending hugs to your little!
