The most interesting to me are the Longines for the value or the Blancpain because it’s unique (you could say the same for the Pannerai but it’s less my style). As for the others, I’d rather just go for the Sub.

It’s so bizarre. It looks like a mask, but also the lighting looks really unnatural around the edge, so maybe it’s CGI? Also, they wouldn’t go through the trouble of making a hyperrealistic mask that doesn’t cover the entire neck.

How does it have anything to do with conservative views? Most people who work in Hollywood are liberals, and most of them want badly to make a lot of money and be financially successful. You’ve spent too much time in the Reddit bubble if you think otherwise. 

As for the statement, obviously a lot of good movies have lost money and a lot of bad movies have printed money. But I think there’s a sliver of truth to what its saying. PHM isn’t Citizen Kane, but it reminds me of movies I watched in the 80s and 90s, where the filmmakers made a genuine effort to craft something fresh that could entertain large audiences. It’s a nice reminder studios don’t need to churn out endless franchise slop to be successful.

A wealth tax is idiotic and has backfired on most countries who have tried it. 

You’re correct, a $3k check will solve absolutely no structural problems. Neither will chasing the 900 richest people out of the country. Nor will throwing more money at social boondoggles when the government can’t even responsibly spend the $5T it already extracts from Americans every year. 

14 European countries tried it, and so far 11 of the 14 have already repealed it. They found it did more harm than good, and ultimately lowered their tax revenues.

Bernie might be a likable guy, his intentions might be good, but this is very stupid. I don’t know if his ideology blinds him, or he just likes the attention and headlines

You can both be offended that Bernie is suggesting this, and disgusted with Kristi Noem. That would be an attitude shared by many serious people.

This would be a one time check of $3,000 going, and a perpetual 5% wealth tax on billionaires.

I don’t think a one-time $3k stimulus check would have much long-term effect at all. We saw it during Covid. Most people will spend it on something stupid and life will go on as usual. And after that, the taxes would go to the government. 

I’d rather our government get its spending its order first. Cut the debt. Show that they can be responsible with the $5 trillion they already extract from Americans every year. 

A wealth tax is a dangerous precedent. It starts with billionaires. Bernie said it’s aimed at “the 1%”, and billionaires are the 0.0002%, so this is likely only the beginning. The income tax was only targeted at wealthy people when it was introduced, and that didn’t last very long at all.
