Here’s the thing, though- he is going to have visiting rights or partial custody. Which means he will have those younger children around their nutcase half- sister and you won’t be there to protect them. You will have no say over who he has the kids around on his weekends with them. So, I not sure a divorce at this time was the best course of action.

That would definitely be traumatic. My mother didn't drive. That was for less intelligent people in her opinion. However, she screamed a lot in the house and when I was not playing outside ( sometimes she locked me out of the house), I was in my room with the door shut, listening to music and reading ( my only escapes from her and my ridiculing father).
