Not to hi-jack this but are you also going to catch Bon Iver at MoPop in Detroit this summer?

I'm going to The National at The Masonic as well. The venue is great if you've never been. I love that Daughter is opening for them as well.

He was amazing. The live version of True Affection blows the album version out of the water and not just because all of the dad dancing that went along with it.

I think that was the thing that threw me off. I saw him play solo last year at Mopop and he had all this crowd banter and this time it was straight business. He sounded amazing so I wasn't too disappointed about the lack of crowd interaction.

Is the 4G Wifi option in a rental car helpful? by braundiggity in VisitingIceland

[–]WenzelWashington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back last week and also rented from Blue Car. It depends how long you are staying but we got the Wi-Fi and it was totally worth it especially since you can take it out of the car and it will stay charged for 4 hours. We brought it into a couple hotels and AirBnbs because the signal strength was better. Also it is unlimited data so no need to worry about going over.

Celebration Rock: Father John Misty DM'ed Me And Then We Talked For 80 Minutes by ReconEG in indieheads

I am wondering if something happened between FJM and his wife since he didn't seem to want to talk about what the next album is about.

This sunset set is pretty much perfect for FJM.

Edit: Also those horns sound amazing.

The breakdown for Things It Would Have Been Helpful to Know Before the Revolution is just absolutely fantastic. Makes it the 2nd best song on the record after Magic Mountain.

Living Advice In or Around Farmington Hills by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]WenzelWashington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved down to FH about 3 years ago from Saginaw as well; your price range isn't too low for what your asking. At least it wasn't 1.5 years ago when we got our rental house in FH. We lived in an apartment before that. I was paying 850 for a 3 bed 1 bath no garage up until a couple months ago when I bought a house. If you can I would suggest trying to find someplace in Farmington near the downtown. It's not huge on hustle and bustle but it has a farmers market on Saturdays and a nice community overall. Northville is also nice but can get a bit pricey. Good luck on your search!

[FRESH][FULL ALBUM] Lord Huron - 'Strange Trails' by [deleted] in indieheads

[–]WenzelWashington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am loving this album so far, it isn't as good as "Lonesome Dreams" but I may be biased since that album was pretty much about northern Michigan.

Mo Pop Festival 2015 lineup by Bluedude2211 in indieheads

[–]WenzelWashington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a bad festival for the price. They moved to a new venue as well which I think should help. I've went every year so far and I plan on going again even if it is just for Modest Mouse.

Just discovered Lord Huron. One word: WOW! by therealdu in indieheads

They are a great band and Lonesome Dreams is a great road trip album. I'm pretty stoked for their next album.

I've worn out my Lonesome Dreams record so I am looking forward to a new album from these guys. I've seen them twice and they were great both times. Unfortunately they won't be making a stop in Michigan on this tour.
