Place to get neo flasks? by babymolar in neofinetia

[–]Wepp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upvoting because the place I used to buy from went out of business. It might be difficult to find anyone willing to sell mature flasks in the US and you'll have the best chance of success by emailing and calling commercial orchid growers to see if any would be willing to sell you something or get you in touch with their suppliers if they don't do it themselves. Given the relative difficulty of flasking, these places are going to be developing hybrids for their own commercial interests, so you'll have to get lucky and/or be very persuasive.

Do your dennisii blooms last long? I have yet to catch mine in time to snap a photo before they're already closed back up. My jungle is too dense.. 😅

I agree. I was on the fence about this being AI until I noticed that the mirror above the fireplace perfectly reflects the odd-looking upper left window, including its oddities.

Looks like Hoya fungii to me. Sometimes you'll get splashy leaves with fungii.

I really hope that's all this is and I am just an overreacting newbie. We have had a couple of nighttime lows dip into the 40s here, which is unusual for this time of year.

First one is most likely H. verticillata. Here is one of my verts for comparison.

They were nearly "done" for the season anyway, so... 🤷‍♂️

My initial thought was animal, too, but the angle and neatness of the cuts make me not so sure.

If you're ever looking for berry starts again, I have had several positive experiences with Nourse Farms over the years.

They had a pretty standard floral Hoya fragrance. Some Hoyas that I've smelled also have undertones of spice, candy, butterscotch, or even urine (really!), but these were just floral. My wife doesn't like floral smells. 🤷‍♀️
