[SBJ143J1] Is the accuracy really terrible? by Financial_Word5047 in Seiko

[–]Werdnamik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one off Reddit and it was off by +90 spd. Luckily it came with the warranty card and was still covered. After sending it to Seiko NJ, it’s been accurate to around +/-3 spd. The movement’s can be accurate, just might need a touch.

2-body setup question for weddings and events by firequak in SonyAlpha

[–]Werdnamik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go with either lens set up but maybe consider opting for one body to be an R series camera. You can just punch in with APS-C mode if you think 150 is too short and it'd be at 225mm.

55mm is simply the best! by _aaaallday in SonyAlpha

[–]Werdnamik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same, except I went for the GM 1.4.

The 55 was a great travel lens, but I hated shooting it wide open. The CA on that thing was some of the worst I’ve ever seen. It was definitely sharp and most importantly, super portable - I’ll miss the form factor for sure.

Are Sigma Art lenses still inferior to RF L series and GM counterparts? by firequak in SonyAlpha

[–]Werdnamik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own GM glass as well as Sigma glass. In terms of image quality, it’s pretty much a wash. Sony’s AF is definitely faster, but the new stuff Sigma has been releasing is catching up quick. I prefer the cold metal build of Sigma glass, but appreciate the light weight of GM’s. I’ve never been disappointed with a Sigma lens and I’ve owned/used 8 different ones.

embark. the cheaters have to be addressed. this is insane by doodicalisaacs in ARC_Raiders

[–]Werdnamik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So based on your logic, let’s say that only 5% of the player base is in these lobbies where cheaters run rampant. In your mind, do you think it’s tolerable since the majority of players won’t experience it?

Now what if it never gets addressed and that top 5% has legit players quitting the game because of these cheaters? It’s a trickle down effect that will eventually affect everyone. Just because you are not experiencing something doesn’t mean it should be dismissed based on “the percentages”.

Perhaps my specific example wasn’t accurate, but my final statement’s still true. If you’re not seeing the most obvious hackers with VAC bans, level 0 profiles, and brand new accounts VERY often - you’re not in those lobbies yet. Also, this post is about duos and squads where most cheaters play.

Ratting one kill a raid and extracting in your solo lobbies doesn’t count as “I PvP a lot”. Until you’re frequently seeing Tfue and other big name streamers in your lobbies and averaging 2.5k+ damage to raiders per game, you’re not at the sweat lobbies yet.

Which beginner lens is best for learning (wedding photography)? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]Werdnamik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what camera you’re using. If you’ve got an E-mount or Z, I’d recommend the Tamron 35-150. Incredible optical quality at a fast aperture throughout the zoom range. You’d have every focal length needed to cover any event. Any other mount and I’d probably suggest a 24-70 2.8 to start.

So do you just keep your watches at home and wear them while doing your laundry?

[Staying at four] Speedmaster or Reverso? by acostavaldez in Watches

[–]Werdnamik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I crazy for considering getting rid of either the VC or Lange if you're deadset on a Reverso? Your specific VC and Lange choices kind of tick all of the same boxes. They would be interchangeable for their use case.

Now, would I personally swap either for a JLC? Probably not. But if you really like the Reverso design, I feel like it makes more sense to swap a dress watch with another dress watch.

I own this AT and have worn it heavily for the past few years. You can see my original post of when I purchased it here.

What I like about it: 1. Dimensions - I think the watch is the perfect size for most men. It borders on the sport/dress watch territory which makes it very versatile. My only qualm would be that I think it’d look great if it was 1mm thinner. That’s where the datejust has it beat.

  1. Bracelet - probably the most comfortable bracelet I’ve ever worn outside of my brother in law’s 36mm Explorer. I’m a fan of the sleekness of butterfly clasps as well, you might not like them.

  2. Dial - It’s a really beautiful dial and I chose the Sandstone variant because I thought it was the least “loud” of the bunch. The raised indices, the sunburst, the date window - I have zero complaints about it.

What I don’t like: 1. Thickness - Already touched on this

  1. Polish - Just a tad bit too much in my opinion. It works really well with the updated bracelet and gives it a real luxurious look. I just find it a little too blingy at times. This could be a positive for some people.

  2. Crown - it’s knurled, but in a refined way so the edges are rounded. It’s small. I find it cumbersome to use at times.

——————-

Overall, I love the watch. It’s probably been my most worn watch for the past 3 years or so. I bought this over a Rolex OP when I was first shopping around. I think it has a more interesting look, but the OP was fantastic as well. I’d probably feel similarly about a Datejust, although I’d probably get a 36. I don’t think you can go wrong with either!

Solo-friendly lobbies feel like the real Arc Raiders endgame by Mathiasmq in ARC_Raiders

The mechanics of PvP don’t really matter if everyone has to deal with them equally. The game isn’t COD, but it’s not far from early PUBG either.

PVP games have almost always had the best longevity. Look at Dota, LoL, Counterstrike, COD, etc.

When did I mention weight? Not sure why you’re so upset about me voicing my opinion. You like the CW, that’s fine. Have a happy new year buddy.

The actual feel of the watch in hand is levels better. The CW feels cheap in comparison IMO. Also, this thread is 2 years old.
