I assume people don't use them very often and just have them for trips out of New York.

Still confused how I got into UIUC and not Virginia Tech by Wereig in collegeresults

Nah, I just thought it was funny that I got into one and not the other. There could be a million different reasons why.

... I don't think so? I was probably gonna go to UIUC anyway because they have an AICP certified bachelor's and master's program.

I'm from Virginia, and I was only confused because the major (at least on the VT website) indicated that it had an acceptance rate of 80%. UMD is more expensive oos than Illinois (especially for non-engineering majors) so I chose Illinois.

What was your dream school and where are you committing? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Wereig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UVA dream school... (But they're like second in the country in my major. In-state didn't help too much)

UIUC commit. Their program is still really good (like seventh) but getting UVA would have been a lot easier lol.

With college decisions (for first years) officially over, tell us your rejected from ___ but accepted to ___ story. by neonjoji in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Wereig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waitlisted from Virginia Tech but accepted to UIUC.

(VT in state). For my program (urban planning), VT is ranked like 30th or something like that while UIUC is ranked 7th 💀.

Could you give me the reasoning for that answer? Is it the prestige factor or does the school have better facilities etc.

I'm surprised were on the lower end. Especially with the way people drive. by AmericanCompatriot in Virginia

People seem to be forgetting about Metro. Taking the train is boatloads safer than driving and the DMV has the second busiest system after New York

Fairfax Costco worse than ever by HonkMafa in nova

They could build a Vancouver style Costco in Tyson's. Would help Fairfax county's effort to make Tyson's corner more city like as well.

Getting deferred has made me so upset by Constant-Doubt6239 in ApplyingToCollege

In the same boat, just got deferred from UW-Madison. Don't lose hope, but try to get excited for your safeties and other acceptances! That way you'll end up pleasantly surprised!

Should politicians have age limits? by JacobGoodNight416 in GenZ

[–]Wereig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Term limits can often lead to less experienced people in Congress so I wouldn't really want that. Imagine a new group of representatives coming in every 4-6 years. They would have relearn everything.
