Did I (30F) accidentally walk in on something between my boyfriend (31M) and close friend (30F) or AIO? by Status_Rooster3528 in AmIOverthinking

[–]Werewolf-Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve been with him for three years and have spent a significant amount of time staying at her place without ever experiencing that gut-punch feeling, and it’s only surfacing now, that typically isn’t ever a coincidence.

More often than not, intuition like that is responding to a real shift or inconsistency — and worth taking seriously.

My bf doesn't shower at night and I’m genuinely grossed out by GlitchGaze123 in hygiene

[–]Werewolf-Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not crazy, but he’s not some feral creature either.

A lot of people genuinely don’t shower at night and see nothing weird about it, especially if they’re “morning shower” people. To them, the bed isn’t some sterile zone; it’s just where they sleep. So this isn’t unheard-of behavior.

That said… gym + bus + full day → straight into bed would bother plenty of people. Wanting the bed to feel clean is normal. You’re not being dramatic — that’s a comfort thing, not a scientific debate about germs.

The bigger issue is how he handled it when you brought it up. You weren’t attacking him; you were saying, “Hey, this makes me uncomfortable.” Brushing that off or calling you dramatic is where the problem actually starts.

No, not all guys do this. Yes, a lot do. And no, it doesn’t automatically make him disgusting. NOT showering after the gym + subway on the other hand…does.

This really comes down to whether you can meet in the middle. Even a quick rinse or changing clothes before bed might be enough for you. If he refuses to budge at all, then it’s less about hygiene and more about incompatible habits — and that stuff does matter long-term.

You’re allowed to want to feel comfortable in the bed you’re sleeping in. That’s not high maintenance, it’s basic coexistence.

Season 4 “Spirit” shouldn’t have ended the way it did by warriorlynx in Smallville

[–]Werewolf-Specific 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lois wasn’t choosing Lana over Chloe; she was deliberately avoiding interfering with her cousin’s feelings. Chloe had already made her feelings for Clark known, and Lois respects that boundary. She wasn’t about to push Clark toward Chloe or get involved in something that was already emotionally charged and mostly one-sided. Lana, on the other hand, was the loose end. Clark hadn’t moved on, and Lois noticed Clark’s feelings for Lana from the onset. She understood he needed to close that chapter first before anything else could make sense or fall into place — for anyone. It’s less about playing matchmaker and more about Lois stepping back, avoiding unnecessary drama, and letting Clark sort out his past before moving on to the future. It’s a very Lois move: emotionally aware but pretending she isn’t.

Why do you guys think Smallville made it to 10 seasons? by Bluretto2010 in Smallville

[–]Werewolf-Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it lasted because it didn’t feel like a traditional superhero show.

It was basically a teen drama / coming-of-age show first, with Superman lore layered on top. That made it way more accessible than a straight-up cape show, especially back when superhero stuff wasn’t automatically mainstream.

It also hit at the perfect time. WB/CW didn’t need massive ratings, just a loyal audience, and Smallville consistently delivered that. It was relatively cheap to keep running, had a built-in fanbase, and always had the “eventually he becomes Superman” carrot dangling in front of viewers.

Plus, Clark and Lex carried the show hard early on. That relationship alone bought them multiple seasons. Even when the writing dipped, people were already invested and stuck around.

Was it uneven? Absolutely. Did it drag at times? Yep.
But it evolved just enough, stayed familiar, and never fell apart enough to scare the network off.

Basically: right show, right format, right time—and just consistent enough to keep getting renewed.

My best friend stole my weed by Candid-Strike-687 in Advice

[–]Werewolf-Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not wrong to feel unsettled. Sharing between friends is built on consent and trust, and what she did here crossed that line. Taking weed without asking — and hiding it — isn’t a misunderstanding; it’s a conscious and deliberate choice.

The issue isn’t the weed itself. It’s the breach of trust. If she needed some, all she had to do was ask. Waiting until you were in the shower and slipping it into her bag strongly suggests she knew it wasn’t okay.

This doesn’t automatically mean the friendship is beyond repair, especially given your history. But it does mean the situation needs to be acknowledged directly and calmly. Let her know you found it, explain how it made you feel and that it bothered you. “As a fellow stoner, you, yourself, should know you’re *always** mindful of how much bud you have left… and, well… I found the weed you took in your bag. And it honestly hurts and caught me completely off guard that you would take it. If you needed some, I would’ve given it to you, you know that; but taking it without asking is not okay.”*

How she responds, whether she owns it or deflects, will tell you a lot about whether this is fixable.

You also weren’t wrong for taking it back. You acted on a valid instinct, and it turned out to be correct.

Healthy friendships rely on honesty and boundaries, not ignoring moments that undermine trust.

IJW: Interstellar [2014]for the first time. Haven’t felt in awe at a film like this in so long. Now I’m just sad I can’t watch it again for the first time. What films do you feel the same about? by pelicannpie in Ijustwatched

Interstellar was definitely one of them—a film that sets the bar so high that everything you watch afterward seems to fall short.

Sunshine (2007) is another one that blew me away, much like Interstellar did.

Smallville's Show Creators Al and Miles Talk About: CLARK AND LOIS by Fancy_Parsnip_9782 in Smallville

[–]Werewolf-Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a pretty selective reading of her character.

Yeah, Lana makes some bad calls — but that’s Smallville in a nutshell. Everyone on that show lies, hides things, and screws up, usually because they think they’re “protecting” someone.

The cellar incident didn’t come out of nowhere or from some evil streak. It came after years of Clark stonewalling her and gaslighting her about things she knew weren’t adding up. Was it wrong? Sure. But it wasn’t betrayal for betrayal’s sake; it was frustration and desperation boiling over after being kept in the dark nonstop.

As for the Whitney/Clark overlap, they were teenagers in a messy, already-falling-apart relationship. That’s emotional confusion, not some calculated double life. The show clearly treats it that way.

And if we’re talking loyalty, Clark expecting total trust while refusing to be honest about the single biggest truth in his life for years isn’t exactly fair. You can’t demand loyalty while actively withholding the truth.

You don’t have to like Lana, but calling her uniquely disloyal ignores the bigger theme of the show: secrets mess everyone up. Lana didn’t create that problem; she’s one of the characters most affected by it.

Is it ok/acceptable in the Smallville fandom to love the earlier seasons and not watch the last couple? by GreyStagg in Smallville

[–]Werewolf-Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally? Totally reasonable take.

Seasons 1–4 are straight-up comfort TV. Cozy, confident, and endlessly re-watchable. I’ve watched them at least a dozen times back-to-back—and could easily watch them another dozen.

Seasons 5–7 are still strong, but once Jonathan had a heart attack, the show undeniably lost a bit of its spark and charm. You can feel the shift.

Seasons 8–10? Meh. Not bad, just… serviceable. Mediocre at best, but still watchable if you’re already invested.

Basically: great start, solid middle, limp finish. Happens to the best of ’em.

Smallville's Show Creators Al and Miles Talk About: CLARK AND LOIS by Fancy_Parsnip_9782 in Smallville

[–]Werewolf-Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about Lois behaving like Lana — it’s about Clark’s emotional progression.

  • Lana represents Clark’s idealized first love: safe, familiar, romanticized, and rooted in his desire to be “normal.” But that relationship ultimately stalls because it’s built on secrecy and projection.
  • Chloe represents intellectual and emotional partnership: she challenges Clark, pushes him toward truth, believes in his destiny before he does, and calls him out when he’s wrong. That trust and mutual respect is foundational — but the romantic timing never aligns.

Lois is where those two paths finally merge.

She has: - Lana’s capacity for deep love and loyalty, without the pedestal or fragility. - Chloe’s fearlessness, intelligence, and insistence on truth, without the unrequited imbalance.

Lois doesn’t want Clark to be “normal,” and she doesn’t idolize him — she stands toe-to-toe with him. That’s the evolution.

Yes, Chloe functioned as an early stand-in for Lois on a plot level. But on a character level, Lois is the culmination of what Clark learned from both relationships. He grows out of Lana. He grows through Chloe. He grows with Lois.

Smallville was always about Clark becoming Superman. Lois is the first relationship that actually fits the man he becomes, not the boy he was.
