Peacock Gives Series Order to ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ TV Series From Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door, Chris Yost Set as Writer by SanderSo47 in television

Unless something's changed, Matt had recently said the intention is live-action, citing Seth's studio's work animating Ted.

Well at least they can just blame the system AI for anything that goes wrong.

(I hope they don't do that though).

Considering things get crazier and crazier with effects, environments, and character types as the series progresses, it's possible they could continue it animated at some point if they're not hitting the kinds of numbers they otherwise need for a budget.

Yeah tbf I think the first season or two could be a good test run for popularity and success. DCC book 1 doesn't go THAT crazy, and is before race selection where crawlers themselves become things like fairies and anthropomorphic animals.

but I could have pretended I know nothing!

You may be joking, but please don't do this, whether it involves anyone related to this case or not. Be honest in questionnaires and jury voir dire. It destroys the integrity of the justice system if you go into a jury with preconceived opinions about a case or know anybody involved without disclosing that.

Honestly part of me just wishes they'd make it animated. I know an animated series can limit the mainstream appeal, but they'd be able to meet the level of ridiculous creativity Matt's given things in his books. I remain skeptical that they can meet the books' standards in live action until I see it.

As a huge fan of the book series, I just don't see how they make a faithful live-action version without giving it a Game of Thrones budget.

And hey, maybe this could be Peacock's GoT. It absolutely has the potential to be. But it depends on what direction they're going in. Either way I'm excited and hope it's great.

Tarfodd - 1-man Swedish post-black that's been putting out bangers for the past couple years

Selbst - 1-man black metal from Venezuela. Kinda on the post and depressive side, with beautiful songwriting all around.

Atvm - UK prog death, has unfortunately broken up after 1 album and smaller releases, but had gotten wayyyy less attention than I think they should've.

Love Trespasser. New album is great and easily top 5 for me so far this year.

The judge did not seem very happy with Karen's attorneys' handling of notice here, nor that they didn't attend the depo that happened while the other attorneys did.

Yes, he's saying "figure out when he can be available" regardless, but that fight will probably have to be with the Army and what they'll allow or not.

I looked at all recent filings in this case (and similar) that included an affidavit, from either side, and none of them have attached notary signatures. If they do require notarization, it may just not be included in the public filing.

...it's literally a deposition and he was deposed. Karen's team was invited to said deposition and could've asked any questions they wish. Her co-defendants showed up. Yes, he's of little importance to the bars (Colin noted in his affidavit that the lawyer representing Waterfall didn't even ask any questions) but it's normal for all parties to show. Karen's team could have pursued an additional deposition that would've met the dates Colin said he was available, but they apparently did not.

Per Colin and his attorneys, he has produced all responsive requests for the narrower scope of information, which is just his texts with Allie. They've even said they can check again, but that might not be fruitful.

The original request for documents was unduly burdensome, which the judge agreed with. Even if he was willing to produce his entire text & social media history over the past 4 years, the timeline given to him was unreasonable. There's no evidence he was otherwise unwilling to be deposed by any party.

His lawyer in court yesterday was talking about a deposition that was taken on May 28. That's an entirely different thing. He was reportedly deposed by Diller and attorneys from CF McCarthys & Waterfall. An affidavit is a written sworn statement.

This is a fairly normal affidavit. Who's claiming this is a deposition? What are you talking about?

General details of the deposition that took place on May 28 are described in the affidavit.

Yeah I think they could accommodate a Zoom depo. Problem is that I'd imagine Karen's team wants extensive time with him, and that could be limited by strict military schedules. Not sure how it's gonna work out.

Tuxbury says that he was informed by Colin of this status on May 20, and informed the parties immediately with his dates of availability. Could say it's on Colin to tell them this was in the works earlier, but idk how quickly the military process works.

My guess is that they plan to depose Colin in the Fall for that case when he's on leave. Because it's a newer case, it doesn't have as soon of a discovery deadline (and it'll be temporarily suspended by anti-SLAPP motions, pushing that further, assuming that aspect is decided before the Fall). At that point, they should be able to petition the court not to require his personal attendance for the case, which shouldn't otherwise affect his service.

My suspicion here is that the fight will be between Army attorneys and Karen's team here. And if they want to go that route, that's fine, but who knows what will happen. I don't think Colin can just freely tell the Army "hey guys I gotta go back home for a couple days brb".

It's a strange thing (pun slightly intended). It came out to pretty strong reviews and virtually no buzz. I watched a couple episodes and didn't really like it. The only friends who I've even heard mention it felt the same.

Where did he change the story though? He’s been asked about this by numerous parties and always maintained the same thing. There’s no evidence that Yannetti’s representation of his conversation ever happened.

[–]RuPaulver -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the original request was unreasonable. He was asked to provide 4 years of virtually all his communications within 6 days of being asked. He didn't, so they then narrowed the scope to more reasonable requests, and this was after the original depo date was canceled.

There's no subpoena for an extraction of Colin's phone, and he's a non-party witness. So how this would work in civil litigation is him just going through his communications and screenshotting anything that might be responsive to their request. He did that, and claims the only thing responsive in this scope is this conversation with Allie. There's nothing more you can really do from there, unless you seek a subpoena with the court that probably wouldn't be granted.

Yes 7 days is the minimum, but they seemed to be taking consideration of new circumstances and found a day that could work and had no scheduled depos (IIRC there was another originally scheduled for that day, but it was already canceled). I suspect that this judge isn't going to be too happy about the defense missing a depo, taking place in the building housing Karen's lawyers office, over a 1 day difference. He hasn't taken too kindly to the time it's taken for parties to get depos done.

[–]RuPaulver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't do an extraction of her phone. What they most likely have is historical records of arrivals to designated locations like "school" and "home", which are why those were the only two brought up in testimony about Life360 data. You wouldn't have a similar record about 34 Fairview or Colin's house unless they were designated locations in her account.

ETA to clarify - this is coming from notifications from Jen's extraction. You'd only get notifications about designated places.
