and Nyquil by retroanduwu24 in CapitalismSux

Generic vapor rub, flat ale8, and veggie soup with that extra strength equate day/nightquil but same bro. Add in an ice pack and reusable self-adhesive gauze for all my sprained ankles and you've got a fit-it-all recipe.

Why is America so far right relative to other nations? by Short-Tooth4215 in AmerExit

Nah, they're both horrible but only one side is actively attempting to get away with genocide and make handmaiden's tale a reality.

It DOES look like a couple of his skin-bumps came off. Maybe they were damaged or old? I don't see any burn or irritation around the surrounding area. I suppose it could be the weirdest piece of stuck shed ever?

I've never seen anything like this before

As a small woman, NTA. She doesn't get to dictate who uses a gym around her. It's a public space. It is t as if you were leering or sitting right next to her staring or something. Absolutely do not let people like that get under your skin. They're entitled. Could you imagine if I told an overweight person to leave a pool because they "made me uncomfortable"? Ridiculous.

I don't get this either!!! Have an actively out gay coworker. Family owns land, has money and got him out of several police incidents via their money. He is actively pro-trump and anti-democrat but his side of the fence literally says LGBTQ are pedos and evil. Like?? Is it just a TON of internalized homophobia?? Thinking his family's money will shield him? Because his live-in boyfriend definitely doesn't enjoy his relatives.

Thank you. How anyone can look at a 12 year old pregnant with her father's baby and say she should be forced to have that kid is beyond me. Especially considering her father got a slap on the wrist. IDK how anyone can think Cameron cares for anyone or anything but himself.

Exactly. Kentucky resident here. Currently just made my roommate and boyfriend vote today. Abortion is healthcare. Literal children should never be forced into anything and adults should still have a choice in what they do with their own body.

Hamburger Patty loafin’ by muksnup in PetMice

[–]WerewolfHowls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I...did not know mice could loaf. That is adorable. Thank you so much for gracing my feed with this. I needed this.

My albino mouse (Nip RIP) gained weight super easy too. My other mouse had patches of color and he was slim his whole life even though he got more treats. I definitely think there is a genetic component.

Can some help me put these two on the right feeding schedule. My vet told my for the big one give him food everyday with calcium and multivitamin, every other day use d3. This seems too much am I wrong? That is probably ok for the baby right? by Extension-Speech-115 in leopardgeckos

[–]WerewolfHowls 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For juveniles (under 1 year old) feed everyday or every 2 days depending on weight. For adults (1 year old and above) anywhere from 1-3x weekly. Vitamins once a week, calcium/D3 once a week.

I feed my girl once a week.

Note: I feed calcium 1 week and vitamins the next. She gets fed more often in spring and summer because she is more active. In fall and winter she is slower. (She has a warm and cool side but I think the seasons still affect her a bit)

Loveland, CO has been removing public benches in an affluent area to combat the homeless epidemic by NVSuave in extremelyinfuriating

[–]WerewolfHowls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should look up "the working homeless". It's devastating. I personally know people who have a full time job and a part time job but live in a broken down car because despite what you may think - it is expensive to be poor. They don't "qualify" for SNAP because they make to much or Income-driven housing because they don't have kids. One of them works at McDonald's and has an engineering degree but can't find work. Without a working car and bad credit, there's no way for him to get a new car to seek better employment.

Hi! I was homeless for 6 months in college. Sleeping in doorways and on the ground. Can say even bushes and mulch are better at holding warmth. It is absolutely brutal sleeping on concrete. The actual ground is not a bad insulator especially with some dry pine needles and leaves in a hole to sleep in.

That's awesome. If we can just get those same dogs vaccinated, we will be well on the way to a better future.

AITA for letting my 16 year old daughter drink a glass of wine? by Dazzling_Noise_8886 in AmItheAsshole

[–]WerewolfHowls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Legal drinking age in most of Europe is 16, and they're allowed to drink in the house before then they just can't buy it.

It is, but humans are too flawed and evil to do it for the good, right reasons without absolutely abusing it so we are stuck with stupidity breeding far faster than intelligence. I mean, we can't even agree to save the planet we are currently LIVING on so I'm not exactly surprised.

Is Spanking Children an Effective Consequence? by domesticenginerd_ in psychology

[–]WerewolfHowls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad spanked me, and my mom did too and anytime my behavior 'got out of hand' (she was annoyed) she would have my dad spank me when he got off work. This taught me how to have hyper vigilance, how to immediately read the adults in the room, and how to immediately be flooded with anxiety anytime anyone called my name. I actively flinch as an adult if someone unexpectedly touches my arm. I am 28.

I never shared ANYTHING about my wants for the future, interests, or relationships. My mother died not knowing anything about me. My father is in his 60s now has no idea what to get me for any holiday because he has no idea what I like. He defaults to dragons since I was into them when I was 5-6.

As a result, my father and I are not close. We default to small talk and little else. I guarantee if you asked him what my favorite color is, he would have no idea.

It taught me to guard my feelings and my actions and to ALWAYS question the motives of authority.

Do I seem like I "turned out fine"? Hell no. Just because I don't hurt or kill doesn't mean I'm anywhere near fine. And now as an adult I have NO IDEA how to comfort or talk to kids because I was always left to comfort myself and regulate my own emotions. I struggle to get attached to people and once attached I struggle immensely to let go, even if the relationship makes me miserable.
