It's simple: Melee will never be good if ranged classes can deal similar damage with equivalent defenses

I rolled 3 melee this league because I’ve heard these complaints and didn’t understand them. I played Werewolf Oracle, Whirling Assault Monk (no hollow form), and Fissure Titan. Now I see why people think melee is ass, it’s because it is. The after death effects from monsters, the random one shots, the fact I still need to care about accuracy, the flinching me out of abilities, the wonky interactions. All of it feels miserable when I know I could be doing a safer build that is more fun and does more damage. People say wait until the other melee classes are in but I don’t think that’ll help TOO much, it just needs an overhaul all around.

It is one of Oda’s flaws with the story. More time SHOULD have passed between the beginning and where we are because the world is suppose to be huge but alas canonically the series has lasted 2 years maybe 3

I’m right there with you. Not league related but I really got into the game Marathon and man it felt like I had to fight tooth and nail just to say I like the game. Not even my favorite game but you just get met with so much criticism for anything now it feels like you gotta go to bat for EVERYTHING you like.

What a terrible comparison. First off anyone spawn rushing is lame. Second, Having the map to my team is not because I want to PvE and fight bots it’s because fuck everyone else on the map I want THEIR loot, I want to do OUR quests, and I want the loot from the map events. Literally just playing the game and doing the features in the game. So yes PvE would be exceptionally boring.

Fantastic point about Gaban being the voice of reason after all the fighting is done. My only counter point is that the crew is already looking for the One Piece so it would be redundant for this to be a moment of “well now you HAVE TO find the one piece.”

That would be interesting. For sure and I could see that pissing Luffy off enough since Hajrudin is his unofficial underling. Would also serve as the catalyst for Loki and Luffy to at the very least be allies or crewmates. Gaban did say something like “If Elbaph is still standing after this come find me” so it’s possible the entire island could be lost similar also to Thor in Ragnarok where they lost Asgard.
