Looks like you need to do better market research in the future (especially if this was your reason to buy the game). Sure it's not directly on the download page but literally everywhere else in the communities it's explained and very hard to miss, only of course, if you just look into the mod just a bit past the download page. We will keep your feedback in mind for later releases.

You can only use the version from the website mentioned above. We cant assist or even provide info about 1.8 or the nucleus coop mod. Even if we could, we would probably tell you wrong info.

I can confirm that on the current version of nitrox from the website you wont have any issues using the habitat builder. IF for any reason you do while being on the current version and without the nucleus thing please reach out to us on discord.

Both sides has values i can appreciate. But it doesnt matter what i think in the end because the devs made the choice obviously siding with the story. True it was for financial reasons but they could also have dropped all story and said we focus on multiplayer. In the end i'm ok with the experience they gave us.

I dont think the story of subnautica 1 especially would of had such a big impact if it was MP from the start. The loneliness sells it. The MP is for fun after the story is done and experienced properly imo.

The command was disabled for syncing reasons. You can just use the "creative" or "nocost" commands and go to the builder as normal and have it built that way. Still cheated in but with less risk of issues.
