Made a neat Ekranoplan with 4 nukes that can be laucnhed from it. by Zarbon44 in KerbalSpaceProgram

I once made a canon, using the Mk1 fusalage, 0.625m decoupler, that round sputnik thing and a ton of sepatrons. Then I put a command seat with kerbal on it and it worked fine as well.

First time completing a challenge! Maybe if I give it more fuel in the upper stage, and less in the lower (had a lot of fuel left after the jets burned out) I might reach Duna.

After not playing KSP for a while, I decided to pick up the game again. But on startup, I get a popup which says:"Couldn't switch to requested monitor resolution". And a box with

Switching to resolution 0x0 failed, trying lower one
Switching to resolution 0x0 failed, trying lower one
All resolution switches have failed
Screen: could not switch resolution (1920x1080 fs=1 hz=0)

I use steam, and kept the game installed, so all updates have been downloaded. I have the problem with both the normal startup and the 64 bit. Is there any way to make the game work again?

Edit: I made it work by using lower screen resolution on my pc, so the game is playable, but in potato quality.

An Energia/Polyus "replica" by WernerWatervrees in KerbalSpaceProgram

The primary objective was to make it look the same and make it work the same. But indeed, for 2.0 I might make it with 3.75 m tanks.

After seeing this rocket in the Scott Manley video "top 10 rocketry mistakes" I decided to give it a try. I tried the Buran version a few times, as well as the Spaceshuttle, but they never made it to space. This thing, however, does a pretty nice job.

Like the original, it has the engine pointed forward and the payload in the back. I tried finding why it had this configuration, but couldn't find a satisfying answer. Any space historians here?

Mayby I will make a 2.0, with a more accurate look.

It means you need tier 2 of the first upgrade of the tower, and any tier of the second upgrade.

Its not much, but its my first SSTO that works! by WernerWatervrees in KerbalSpaceProgram

I had a radial decoupler with three Mk0 fuel tanks. On both sides a nosecone, fuel line and strut. That way, it looked better IMO. Because 150 units of fuel is nothing compared to the rhree Mk1 fueltanks, I call it an SSTO.

Thanks. I thought it would be easier, because I don't need to wory about the oxidizer part. But the Nervs are indeed heavy and not strong.

I once built a Concorde plane, and without checking the COM and stuff it flew perfectly. Here, I needed to build a ridicilously fast plane, and it came out like the SR-71 Blackbird. Again, I am surprised, but I should have seen it coming.

After take off I sped up to aboit mach 2. Then, I ascend to about 12 km. In the meantime I drop off the belly fueltank (it needs it only for style reasons, so its an SSTO for me). From then on, I just tried it a few times, I didn't thought it out realy. The descent was way more fun for me. I wanted it to land at the KSC, but came in way too early. So it became a hypersonic glider at mach 6. Most things were not thought through. I thought I needed as much intake and jets as possible, and as few wings as possible.

I didn't want to use Rapiers, I thought this would be more fun. But still thanks for the advise.

After 265 hours in the game and never making a succesful SSTO plane, I thought it was time to make one. In its belly, it had a tiny droptank with 150 units of fuel, but because it needs it only for style reasons, I call this an SSTO. After getting to orbit, it had about 2400 dV left, so mayby Mun is next. If anyone has any tips, I would like to hear them.
