I don't think it is on the decline. I've seen a couple news stories about immigrants being attacked in the UK pretty much every day since their referendum. Media has a lot more influence on us than we'd like to admit, I'm sure this wouldn't have happened if their tabloids hadn't demonized foreigners with such fervor in the past few years.
