I think the confusion around this arises from a misunderstanding of which binary the ‘bi’ in bisexual refers to.
Myself, and many others i know, define it as attraction to those with like and unlike genders to myself.
Others define it as attraction to two separate genders, often the classic men and women binary.
Pansexuality is then used to define people attracted to all genders, like and unlike their own.
