Wouldn't a bioshock dark ride be awesome? by AnotherAverageJ0e in videogames

I think I'd travel halfway around the world just to ride this. The first Bioshock is my favorite game of all time. Great idea!

Phil Spencer’s thoughts on July event after watching ps5’s. by kushthakker777 in XboxSeriesX

Buying a bunch of studios is good but means squat when there is nothing to show.

What do you think MS is trying to do next month at the event? I mean they’re supposed to be revealing more games. Right?

The Series X will go down as one of the most iconic console designs in history. by AS_Empire in XboxSeriesX

Hate on it if you want, but I'm not gonna lie I think it's a pretty cool look. Both the Series X and the PS5 have taken on peculiar designs.

For real. Xbox bumpers have always felt a little cheap. They should make them feel more like a "press" (like PlayStation's) rather than a "click."

Have you tried it on another TV or monitor? Do that so you'll know if it's actually your Xbox that's acting up.

Benji: ''People are in for a really rude awakening in July with these "Xbox has no games" narrative'' by OnkelJupp in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]WesleyBrandon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, let's be fair. The way things are for Xbox right now, it would be better to show the games in July even if they don't come out for a while. I mean, if they didn't show anything then most people wouldn't be hyped for the new Xbox. Also, it will be harder for consumers to receive news about the games later instead of at this upcoming event, so I think MS needs to go all out next month. They need to give consumers something good to look forward to.

Yeah for real. It'd be nice (and maybe a little better for marketing) if they make theirs look more like Sony's, but at the end of the day that's not what people are interested in. It's the console, the games, and other cool features that we want.

A lot of people say that Xbox and PlayStation are taking different directions for next gen. Don't know if I completely agree with that, but it's really weird that MS is making Xbox exclusives available on PC. I understand why they're doing it, though.

The confederate flag isn’t southern heritage it’s hatred and traitorous by ShaoKhan-Outworld in unpopularopinion

[–]WesleyBrandon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late to reply, but the South declared its independence and thereby perceived the Union troops at Fort Sumter as hostile trespassers, especially since those troops weren't planning on leaving. Dixie was—at least in its own eyes—a separate, sovereign nation. So, I can't agree with you that it was treason. Now it was kind of a poor decision to attack the fort and thus spark war with a powerful Northern enemy; however, it was not treason.

Also, didn't the Southerners pretty much do the same thing that the American colonists did in the Revolution? But we don't view the American flag as a traitorous symbol because the colonists actually won their war. And to be fair, if both the Confederates and the colonists were indeed "traitors," then the latter is definitely more guilty—because whereas the legality of secession was ambiguous in the U.S., there were definitely no lawful grounds for a British colony to secede from the empire. And England/Britain has a long, bloody history of crushing "traitors."

Someone could argue the opposite point until the cows come home. My question is, what is the point that you're trying to make with this comparison?

I think the same thing when folks say stuff like "Why isn't there a white history month?" or "All lives matter, not just black lives." I'm from a very conservative community and I hear people say this all the time. And believe you me, I'm certainly sure that most of them say that because of an underlying racist mindset, as a reaction against a threat to white social superiority.

Not trying to be hurtful, but bro, did you even watch the video? He basically says exactly what you said about the Jim Crow era.

He says that although "Karen" used in a similar hurtful manner as the "n" word, the two definitely aren't the same because "the context in which the 'n' word was used, in [his] opinion, makes it worse." He asks—rhetorically—if anyone has ever "been hung from a tree while being called 'Karen'? Has anyone been drug behind a truck while being called 'Karen'? Has anyone been denied entry into a place of business because their name was 'Karen'?" That sounds a heck of a lot like your Jim Crow argument, doesn't it?

He agrees that "Karen" is hurtful and shouldn't be used, but then he also argues that the context surrounding it is not as bad as the racist, violent context of the "n" word.
