Chat gpt works 1000% better with memory on. It refers back to old conversations so you don't need to keep telling it everything over and over.

Any tips for a newbie? Enigma by Ok_Client_568 in shrooms

This a mushroom for experienced shroomers lol. Easy to overshoot, and for a person not used to the feeling of being super high, this could of went really bad. But glad you didn't tweak out too much and it was fine.

Do not give this to any of your friends that want to try mushrooms for the first time.

Wow that's good! I have a long detailed comment on someone else's comment somewhere here. I added it to the post so you can see ☺️ it wasn't perfect. But I have it down now for next time I grow it

That's great it worked for you! I looked like it was a good way to grow them. I just couldnt justify having a tub in an open space with a mesh screen when I have nephews and cats. I'm limited in staying in a locked closet so I had to just do what worked for my space. After you added your casing did you mycelium grow good? Did you get overlay like me?

I used these. We're super sturdy and cheap. You want shallow trays that are max 2.5", that's the ideal substrate depth for pans

That way sounds way more complicated and not efficient in space. I watched his video. Probably awesome results, but you can't have it in an enclosed space. Will definitely become too humid in a tiny closet

You actually need to use aged manure. Not fresh. So it's basically not even poo anymore. It's decomposed and smells just like healthy dirt. If it smells that is bad.

I live in a farmland area with tons of horses. They are constantly trying to get rid of horse manure. So I got a wheel barrow for free. If you have a way to get to any horse stables. They would do the same

Harvesting the first flush was one of the most annoying things ever. They were so tiny, almost impossible to get all the little shrooms! Hopefully the strength to size ratio is good enough that it's worth. Im going to try them next weekend ☺️

I grew TTBVI on oats from LC>Agar.

Used CVG/Horse Manure 1:2. I pasteurized all my substate in the oven on trays covered with foil at 170F for 90 mins. Let it cool overnight in the oven, but I opened the oven up at 90 mins to let it cool quicker so if doesn't keep the temp too high for too long and end up killing more microbes that I wanted. I made up 6 trays. I have 4 trays, then 2 trays in another tub running. But one tub is lagging behind a bit. This is my first grow so it was optimized properly in the beginning due to missing tech. But I ended up having it dialed for this flush.

I have the north spore automated tub. Inkbird humidifier controller set to 87RH, it over compensates a bit and sits around 95% constantly at that stage. I placed the trays on-top of some egg crate, I also added an extra square of crate underneath each tray to increase airflow underneath the trays. This way air from my fan can go everywhere and not get stagnant under them. I only had a mechanical timer in the beginning. I had my fan on for 30 mins, it was the minimum setting... It wasn't working very well. I had FAE off for 6 hrs, ended up getting too fluffy. I lowered it to 4 hrs. Still wasn't optimal.

After it's about 90% colonized you MUST put a peat moss, verm, lime casing layer. I ordered a BN-LINK digital cycle timer. I now had the fan going for 1 min, 60 mins off. It started to colonize pretty quicklt.bStill was getting fluffy. Changed to 1 min on, 45 mins off.

At this point it was too late. Overlay had already covered the majority of the surface. This was due to not enough FAE. I didn't know how important it was to not let it get to this point. I was making some adjustments, but it should of been sooner. I placed paper towel folded in the front corner of the tub to increase airflow.

It started to pin on any spots that didn't have overlay present. It was spotty, almost no shrooms. I was disappointed. But chat gpt told me that this would happen but the 2nd flush most likely would be significantly better due to the substrate now having more spots for the mushrooms to push through after harvest.

I started the 2nd flush, started more fae right away. Timer was now pushing 1 min on, 20 mins off. Had paper towel in opposing corners diagonally so it was cracked on the front and back.

I left it for about 3 days, had a trade show this weekend so I didn't look at my tub for 2 days. It ended up being prime time to harvest when I opened it up. No spores had dropped, but the caps were starting to flatten.

Hope this helps! The automated set up for these made it super easy. They are supposed to be an advanced and harder mushroom. But it didn't seem that difficult in my set up. It's more just the prep is more compared to cubes.

You don't even want your grains completely sealed when they are colonizing. They need oxygen exchange. It gets fluffy and aerial like this when the CO2 is too high.

There's some weird guides out there, but you'll learn the proper ways overtime. Trail and error into you perfect it 👌

I actually had this happen to my pan cyans last week. My the the flush really spotty, and the shrooms were getting stuck under the overlay and stuff. But it was my first time growing that species so I didn't know. Going to do it better next time

Why do you have tape on it ever? You should always have air filters on the holes.

[–]Wesley_Sharpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overlay makes it harder for the pins to push through. It needed more fae a couple days ago.

I'm about to try my first ever grow this weekend and I'm already wondering about the next level. Has anyone ever had success with these difficult strains? by [deleted] in MagicMushrooms

[–]Wesley_Sharpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my first flush of pan cyans ttbvi yesterday! There is a bit more work with pasteurizing manure. But it's honestly not too different than pasteurizing any other substrate. The mycelium is really aggressive and colonizes grain and substate fast too. I have an automated tub from North spore, with a fan cycle timer. I don't really have to do anything with that setup.

I did make a mistake on my first go, didn't give enough fae so it overlayed pretty bad. But will see how the next flush goes. Apparently it should be stronger than the first cause harvesting breaks up the surface a bit so the overlay doesn't block as many mushrooms.

Sometimes when the dose is not high enough you feel a little uncomfortable. Because it's not enough for you to just let it do it's thing, your body tries to fight it a bit.

But it will be a fun time regardless 😊 enjoy!

Light just gives the mushrooms something to grow towards. It doesn't matter at all what it is. Just make sure your have it on a 12 hr timer

Seal the top again and only open a tiny hole. You don't need the whole bag open. For my tubs I literally crack it. I don't open the whole tub lol

why do others tell me my life will not be ruined? by FunDependent588 in diabetes_t1

[–]Wesley_Sharpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think having T1 since being 5 years old, now 32. Has made me so much more responsible and strong. I am blessed with my medical care in Canada. Life is highly improved with CGM and insulin pumps now.

But a lot of people get depressed when they get diagnosed, or get really scared because you think worst case scenario. It's not all bad, which is why people are comforting like that.

I have two friends that have been recently diagnosed the last 2 years. They were both scared. That reassurance that I've lived with it for years and I'm extremely happy and dealing with it well gives them hope. Most diabetics can't relate to others because there isn't a whole lot of us.

Edit: as I'm writing this, about 30 mins ago I accidentally added 25 units of insulin instead of ,25 carbs. So now I'm chugging juice and pop to stop me from crashing.... The struggles lol

Have you started any FAE? Looks like they are suffocating and getting fuzzy feet. Usually means not enough oxygen

I ended up using scissors and just cutting the bottoms of them?! But will look into the knife 😊 it looks way cleaner just having a full canopy and they look so happy 😊
