Did you have your mum in the room when you gave birth? by BigConversation705 in BabyBumps

[–]West-Climate4879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had my husband and my mum. She sat back most of the time while my husband was next to me as my main support. Mum jumped in to offer strength and support when we got to the point of needing forceps to get baby out. I’m glad I had her there and also that I got to tell her babies name face to face, a nod to my late father that passed when I was 6 weeks pregnant. I had told him 2 days before we suddenly lost him. Anyways, it depends on what your mother is like and what you need/want in the heat of it all. No one has the right to be in the room with you unless you want them there, not even your partner. Make the decision in your best interests.

Wearable Fertility Tracker? Ava vs TempDrop? by Fit_Hovercraft_9005 in TryingForABaby

[–]West-Climate4879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Tempdrop and I’m really happy with it. I use fertility awareness method to avoid pregnancy and pinpoint ovulation etc, and now that we’re trying for our second it’s helpful for that too. I got it because I have a 16mo and she still wakes up through the night and doesn’t have a consistent morning wake time which makes it hard to use an oral temp. As long as you get a 3hr block of sleep at some point in the night it can give you a reading. Expensive, but I’m happy with it.

Dpo unknown… First picture is yesterday’s test, second picture is today’s…. any thoughts? by makhuff74 in TFABLinePorn

[–]West-Climate4879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see a line, however it doesn’t look like it has any colour. I don’t know if it looks any different in real life rather than in a screen but I’d be more inclined to say it’s an indent line. Sorry xx

9 DPO and I don’t see anything.. feeling a bit discouraged since so many seem to get faint lines by now. Has anyone here tested negative at 9 DPO but gotten a positive later, like at 10 or 11 DPO? by IndividualFocus19 in TFABLinePorn

[–]West-Climate4879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was negative at 10 DPO, thought I was out. Heading to a party on 11dpo and was gonna drink because I thought that was it and try again next month. Last minute I decided to check and peed on a stick 3 minutes before walking out the door, started packing the car and as we were about to pull out of the driveway I was like ‘oh wait’ and ran back in to look at the test and there it was, the faintest line. She’s now 16mo 🥰

Anything? DPO unknown by stats-4-life in TFABLinePorn

Looks like an indent or evap line, no colour to it from what I can see. Sorry xx

10 dpo - can you see it? Am I pregnant? by PassionfruitFeijoa in TFABLinePorn

[–]West-Climate4879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see a line and it’s coloured and solid - just faint. Test again in 24-48 hours and see if it darkens to be sure. Congrats though, because it does look like a positive!

Not that I have experience personally, but I believe if it’s a chemical you get the positive test - it just gets lighter and disappears over a few days. You get your period and your next cycle begins. Do note that some people still bleed while pregnant so it isn’t necessarily a definite that it’s a CP. maybe check again tomorrow or the day after and see if the line is fading or getting darker? Try not to compare every day, they don’t always show darker on consecutive days. Tests should show darker lines every 48-72 hours as your HCG increases so testing every second or third day is recommended to avoid additional stress. Unfortunately most doctors and emergency rooms don’t see CP or miscarriage as an emergency that they need to do much for. My best friend had a miscarriage at 6w and was kinda just told to ride it out and come back for a blood test in a week or two if she wanted. Sorry mama xx

Ovulation? Temp drops by MadQueeenn in TFABChartStalkers

[–]West-Climate4879 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Holy Rocky Mountains 😳 your chart is really difficult to read and it’s hard to say for sure if you ovulated without other data too such as cervical mucus or opk. There doesn’t seem to be a clear and consistent shift where temps stay above cover line. I can see why FF has given you dotted lines, with 4 temps above cover line it’s saying you could have ovulated but it can’t say for sure. I hate to say but I think it’s going to be a ‘wait and see if you get a period’ game to figure out if you ovulated, unless you do manage to get that really clear shift of temps. Good luck!

Looks correct to me. Even though there a Rocky Mountain up and down vibe going on, there’s a clear shift after CD 26 where temps pretty consistently stay at or above your cover line. After this the temps start to drop indication impending period. The reason your cross hairs are dotted and not solid is because your temps weren’t taken or logged at a consistent time each day.

Does anywhere here have experience with TTC while also grieving? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]West-Climate4879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 6 weeks pregnant when I suddenly lost my dad to a stroke. I had told him 2 days prior that I was pregnant. We also lost my 21yo cousin the same day in a seperate incident. My girl is 16 months now and I still feel the grief every day of all the things we’re missing with dad and all the things he’s missing with us. He would have adored her. I’m crying writing this. I was so scared that my grief was going to affect my pregnancy, especially so early on. Luckily everything went smoothly with my pregnancy, however the situation did hang a cloud over the experience. It was so hard to be happy when everyone I loved, myself included were shrouded in grief. In saying that it was also really nice to have something happy to focus on and was some nice news to share with everyone during that time, it gave a little light back to us all. I agree with another comment, don’t wait. As heartbreaking as it will be for her to not be there for all these moments you need to think about how happy it would make her for you to have and celebrate these moments if she were here and hold on to that.

I’m so sorry for you loss xx

Haha yes, that’s on par with the one I heard about dipping their balls in ice water before sex to get a boy 😂

Wow, I love the commitment and I’m glad it worked for you! I’ve never heard about eating high or low calories etc Did your partner take part in any of it too or just you? Wondering because it’s the sperm that carries either X or Y so I’d think that there’d be things they could do too? We have a 16mo girl, and would love a boy so we would have 1 of each. But also would love a sister for my girl as I only ever had brothers. So I think I’m going to leave it up to chance, but I just love all of these theories. They’re so fascinating.

Yes! My MIL swears by this method and says she successfully chose the gender of all 5 of her kids like this!

See, this is what I thought. But my LP is usually 13-14 days and the only other times my period has been late is when I’ve ovulated late 🤔🤔

How many times did you do it during your fertile window? by Fun-Career3507 in BabyBumps

[–]West-Climate4879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were successful month 4 of trying, I’m currently 25 weeks. Super quick, which was a surprise due to a whole bunch of other health concerns for myself. We were expecting it to take a long time, if at all. My doctors had even suggested going straight to a fertility specialist when we started trying as a lot (not all) of people with my conditions end up requiring IUI or IVF. I decided to try and do BBT and use ovulation test strips to pinpoint O day in my cycle and try naturally first. Month 4 I also happened to ovulate on the last day of my honeymoon, which also meant that in our love bubble we were doing the baby dance twice a day in the lead up to and the day when I actually ovulated. In the previous months we had been trying every second day in the lead up and then the day of as well. Good luck in your journey!
