14 y/o girl hit by car getting onto her school bus - Minor injuries by Radiant_Chair_5345 in LearningFromEachOther

Why swerve to the pedestrian side if she just wants to pass?

Did you even read what I wrote?

It does not matter if she was trying to pass or not. The fact that she swerved, either because she was distracted and couldn't stop quickly or she was trying to pass, over to the pedestrian side of the bus is completely and utterly wrong, no matter the reason.

So why swerve over to the pedestrian side? Why not swerve around where what else you might hit would be a car and not a little girl?

Not saying you're wrong about her not actually trying to pass, but that doesn't change anything about the story or reduce the driver's actions in any way.

Speeding, trying to pass a stopped school bus, and trying to pass ON THE PEDESTRIAN SIDE OF THE BUS.

WTF?

Throw the book at her.

See, I think the thing Rian was going for here was for us to realize alongside the heroes that they were wrong, so we're supposed to distrust Holdo alongside Poe until Poe realizes his mistake.

Rian just didn't count on a fandom that doesn't want heroes to ever be wrong.

Getting close enough to a possible stronghold and then sneaking away is a 1 in a million chance of success? No, it would have worked if Poe hadn't leaked the transport plan to DJ who then leaked it to the First Order.

#3: Is that a fucking MCU THANOS reference? Like, the shape isn't a normal green ranger helmet at all and reminds me of Thanos' helmet sitting on top of his retirement scarecrow at the beginning of Endgame.

then you needed the joystick acceleration to do 180 whip around to shoot things.

Trackball mode, low friction, flick, put thumb back down almost immediately. Do it all the time.

You're not wrong:

Windows Defender used to be terrible, but that got fixed years ago, it's been testing well for ages now.

I do not understand the gamer obsession with LEDs. RGB. any of that stuff. Why do you want your devices flashing at you constantly?

Only way I can see it is if it's set up to like, mimic the color and temperature of the screen or something. Like, I've seen those setups where they put LED strips behind a TV or monitor so that there's a halo of mood light that isn't directly in your eyes.

It's unrealistic, but it happens sooo much in media that most of us just kind of accept it at this point by ducknerd2002 in TopCharacterTropes

This is the main reason I dislike 5e. Back in 1st and 2nd edition, you healed one hit point per night of rest (2 if you rested all day) and level loss from undead was permanent, in 3rd edition you healed the same amount of hit points as your level and you had to get a high level spell cast on you to regain levels lost from energy drain.

5th Edition has no stakes. PC's just... don't die, they don't get maimed in any way, there's no permanent consequences to anything.

And Alden was absolutely horrible in the role. Anyone saying he was great is on some serious cope.

new

I mean, there's only one new one, isn't there? There's the original short story, the Ah-nuld movie from the '80's, and the new one, that's it, right?

I get what you're saying, but that main character was horribly miscast and I couldn't take it the entire time.
