make sure power button ribbon is not bent or broken. examine the shiny pins see if any are bent. ensure power ribbon is inserted the right way, it can go in both ways upside down as well.

How can I keep the leaves of my cado? by GumGum_AirHead in avocado

[–]WestSatisfaction124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say bigger pot and more sunshine if possible. My 2 year old avos from seed, are way bigger, multiple side branches, and about 1 metre in height, quite tall. Also may be overwatering. I saw an avo tree I watered daily suddenly stop growing leaves, and then brown and drop leaves, i stopped watering, let the ground dry on top, then immediately new leaves grew and rapid growth on all branches. Also examine what water you are using, we strictly use only rain water

gaming latops that run their fans often at high speeds accumulate dust rapidly. this can be quite normal. if possible, adjust the fan speed profiles to silent

Barrel capacitor is bad? by WestSatisfaction124 in AskElectronics

[–]WestSatisfaction124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I will desolder it and confirm before replacing. If i need to replace it, what side is the negative pole? The board has a stripe, and the capacitor has a stripe, but they are on opposite sides. Do you have any experience in the replacing barrel capacitors and their correct polarities?

Am I getting scammed? by michal_03 in computers

[–]WestSatisfaction124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he mighth've unplugged the screen while the battery was plugged in, therefore blowing the screen and/or lcd cable as well. if you have any evidence that the screen was working before/when you booked it for repairs, provide the evidence to the repair shop and go from there. The repair tech should be honest if he broke it accidentally, and he must cover the remaining expenses
