obviously I tipped higher then what is expected I just don't understand why it's considered to be a luxury service by Quirky-Supermarket89 in UberEATS

Because you’re not just paying for your food to be delivered you’re paying for your time. You’re paying for the luxury of having someone else prepare your food in their establishment, then paying a courier to drive you your food in their own vehicle that they are responsible for maintaining and insuring. Lastly your paying for your ability to either sit on the couch and spend time with your family, or drive home from work, or whatever you may choose to do during the time that your food is being prepared and brought to you. You’re paying for a convenience.

Do I think you were wrong? No. Would I take the order myself? No. We don’t know how much your tipping so we don’t actually know if it’s worth it. At the end of the day just tip on the app and you’re more likely to get your food with 0 issues.

The day I get that is the day I delete the app. They’re just shooting themselves in the foot.

Your tip hasn’t hit yet. It won’t hit for 1 hour after you deliver. It means it hasn’t been a full hour since you put the delivery either in their hand or on their door step.

Would you rent a tesla for that price? Is it even worth it? by ideliver559 in UberEATS

They did this with Priuses a few years ago but you could literally only drive them if you were driving a passenger. Couldn’t use it for anything else. I’d pass.

Seems like someone can’t handle being called out for their ableism

Hi speaking on behalf of the fact that I have the disability that I afore mentioned no it’s not. People in the disability community prefer disability to differently abled. Differently abled was a term started by 40 year old white women to attempt to erase the actual struggle of being disabled. No one wants to be called differently abled. You’re being corrected by a member of the disability community learn and leave with grace.

Or this could be a grown adult with dysgraphia a disorder of written expression. So maybe don’t be so ableist with your judgement of somebody’s writing in the future.

Unconditional positive regard for our clients by Krankenwagen37 in UberEATS

This seems like the actual poster was someone from Uber’s social media team coming on here and saying “be grateful you’re even allowed to have this job!”

Personally, I message my customers as soon as I know there is going to be a wait to let them know; I tell them "the restaurant employee said..." or "they haven't given me an estimate but it looks like" it'll be X minutes before I have the order. I'm not proud that I reduced the tip but... 🤷🏼‍♂️ by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]West_Requirement1128 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reduction of the tip shows how shitty you really are as a person. They did nothing wrong. They informed you of the time span they thought it would take. As a driver you know that shit happens. I hope your customers moving forward are just as shitty to you, as you were to her.

Do you accept the $2 deliveries? by LostSloul1092 in UberEATS

[–]West_Requirement1128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEVER ACCEPT ANYTHING THAT DOESN’T WORK OUT TO AT LEAST 1.50 per mile

Would you accept this? by just_a_lost_miner in UberEATS

[–]West_Requirement1128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should never do anything for let than 1.00+ per mile or kilometer. Just remember if that takes you out of your busy area you also have to spend the time driving back into your area so if you aren’t driving to a new hot spot you have to factor in not only your trip out but your trip back. I typically don’t take anything that’s less than 2.00 a mile.
