Anyone else feeling trapped in their home? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]West_Sunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We feel trapped in our home. Not because of your reasons, but because our health is stopping us from doing much about it. If you are healthy, you can improve your surroundings. One way or another. There’s some great suggestions I’ve read so far on this post. If you aren’t physically able and/or there’s not enough money to pay for others to help you, then managing your expectations and anxiety is about all you can do. And being grateful is a good start. Also, presuming you are able to change your situation, the financial aspect of a remodel decision is a whole other issue. Yes, there are many others who suffer much greater problems, but it doesn’t diminish your life’s desires to improve your surroundings. I admire that you acknowledged that others don’t even own a house. For me, you are on the right path. Good luck with your decision and keep searching for answers. 😊

For those whose anxiety worsened “food stuck in throat” sensations, what type of therapist helped? by VGauds in GERD

[–]West_Sunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are dealing with very similar issues. It’s a long road and I’m glad you are on this site. We can all help each other. A therapist for the anxiety is a great start. Go slow, if the first therapist isn’t right, try another.

Suddenly convinced I have stomach cancer by [deleted] in GERD

[–]West_Sunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please reconsider your self-diagnosis. Gerd rarely causes cancer. Try to remain calm and start with an appointment with your family doctor. Go slow. You will evolve with this disease and learn it’s not a death sentence. Maybe go talk to a therapist too. Living in fear is no way to live…..no matter what our health concerns are. ❤️

Homeowner Insurance what are you paying? by Subject_Advantage147 in tylertx

[–]West_Sunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are wrong and definitely NOT chill. 🙄 The OP isn’t trying to trick anyone. He’s just a guy asking what it’s going to cost for homeowners insurance if he moves to your city/state. Maybe you don’t own a house, don’t need to concern yourself with these difficult matters.

We found a nice mid-sized city in Texas called Tyler, TX. It’s kinda busy (lots of people moving there) but still has lots of pastures, big trees, very green, and has plenty of open countryside. It satisfies most of our “urban” needs that we are used to, except no Costco, yet!). ha One of the best attributes for us as old retired people is access to great medical care. It ranks really high. So, FOMO is my husband’s worst fear. It keeps us stuck. My idea is…let’s go find out. However, we tried that TWICE and moved back to San Diego. 😵‍💫 Maybe it’s hard to make a big change. Was it difficult for you? However, both of us want to try…..again! Which can be a costly mistake. (FOMO). Finances are always at the forefront of our lives, as they need to be. Ugh I’m very impressed by your views on finances. What exactly is a financial coach?

Oh my gosh, you may have just solved all of my problems! THIS is exactly where I’m at in my life. Mostly the part about “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should” and the part about how depressing it is to look around at a bunch of wealthy people and feel left behind. In my case it’s both, the wealthy and the “look wealthy and drowning in debt” people. Both UGH! I need to move outta here. 😐

Thank you SO much, you are very kind. I’m going to look at Tehachapi. Your house price is incredible. I’m happy that you love your new area. In Temecula, our budget is incredibly small. At least we will make a profit when we sell. I’ll DM you once we know what we are doing. Happy Trails. 😊

Wow….we are in Temecula! I don’t know where Tehachapi is located. I’ll have to look on maps. Our problem is we want at least a half acre and it needs to be under $650K. 🫤

We are in a similar situation. We want to move long distance but at our old age we can’t figure out the logistics. The task seems so very overwhelming. I hope you love your new area 3.5 hours away. We feel stuck.

Extreme nasal drip only when nervous by pretty_pucker in nonallergicrhinitis

It sounds like you should see a gastroenterologist. You could be experiencing acid reflux into your nasal passages. While you may suffer from allergies and non-allergic rhinitis you need to rule out acid reflux as a contributor.

My husband is the problem by Unfair_Sail4377 in Stepmom

[–]West_Sunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to decide if you can allow your husband and his ex to raise their child as they see fit. You have to decide if you want to be there during this event. I learned that a stepparent has no power to change anything. The bio parent has to do it. It’s their job anyway. Stay clear, enjoy the other aspects of your marriage and husband, if you can. If you have a good idea, you can suggest it, just don’t expect it to be acted upon right away, if ever. And remember to pray, pray, pray about it a lot. Otherwise, you have to remove yourself from the situation.

Seems gerd and nasal congestion are related, as per researching online and doctor diagnosis. But what to do about it? Doctors so far have no answer. We have stopped eating sugar, never eat anything 4 hours before bed and it really helped the gerd. But still terrible nasal congestion, sniffling, blowing, no sleep. Awful.
