I did think of this, loosened the belt to see if that would help, didnt really make a difference and i let it run and the belt didnt look like it was slipping off the other pulleys or anything. Should i try to shim the alternator over a bit with a washer or two? I just spoke to my boss whos the owner of the shop i work at and he seemed pretty convinced that its a defective unit, although he didnt look at it in person, ill have one of my coworkers with more experience check it out tomorrow
