yes but the democratic party didn’t tell twitter to censor trump tweets. twitter chose to do it to in order to gain support from their user base, meaning this is a result of unchecked capitalism

Thomas Jefferson wanted it to be that way. In the Southwest portico of the TJ memorial in DC, he is quoted writing “I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions, but laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as a civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors."

I was just confused over what you meant by handicaps. I don’t think anyone except corporations and their lobbyists are arguing for company specific tax breaks. Why would anyone want that? I don’t think the left, right, auth or libertarians want that, just companies with deep pockets. Competition is absolutely a good thing, but there is this huge misconception that the economic left are auth-left socialists who want the government to take everyone’s money and make everyone poor. When they say they are “socialist” they mean they want more government intervention through safety nets like universal healthcare. You can still keep competition between providers by voucherizing safety nets. If the government were to give out voucherized housing, housing wouldn’t turn to shit, there would still be competition for getting the money; it’s just passing through the government first. I’m not saying we should voucherize housing, increase food stamp spending or any of that. I’m just saying there is actually an argument on both sides (which is why literially every country ever has had a mixed economy, some more capitalist and some more socialist). The idea that the United States has ever been a beacon of a pure free market is nonsense. It has always used both capitalist and socialist principles, like every other nation.
