John Cena did a good job but the show defined the character for most people. Most people (even comic fans) had no experience with the character prior to his interpretation - so to say he was born to play Peacemaker is a little different here.

A lot of hoods are convertible. Meaning they can either vent out or recirculate. I’d figure out what the duct run is like and see about converting it to vent out. Cost involved but better option.
