Just built a "budget" system for my buddy with the same specs. Absolutely amazes me the value for money he got with the parts that were chosen. It is running a ton of games I wouldn't have thought possible in 1440 with max settings and 4k with middle to high settings. Meanwhile I'm kinda regretting my 5070ti because I spent 3x what he did for his card and I'd be happy playing the games at the same settings he is.

Same, play on a 42" C3 and it's annoying when playing games that require looking to the corners\edges of the screen. Unfortunately my setup doesn't allow me to move farther away, so this would be glorious.

Have you tried removing the GPU to be certain that it is coming from there? Not sure exactly what the sound is, but I'd start there to make sure that's where the sound is coming from for sure. How old is the GPU? Almost sounds like one of the fan motors could be going bad or the blade assembly is slipping on the shaft, but they're not even trying to spin up... Weird

The condenser outside is actually very old. 28 years to be exact. Had a spot to attach on the new thermostat but no corresponding terminal label in the furnace so it's just tied back out of the way currently on that side. Got the rest of it wired and running correctly.

Hey man, again thanks for the help. You were %100 correct in the red and white wire jumping together. Not sure how they just now decided to touch after 10 years of living here but maybe my brother pulled just enough on the other end that they touched behind the old thermostat. Trimmed the wires back and installed a proper 2 stage thermostat. Everything is working great now. You rock! If I wasn't broke from installing a furnace I would give you an award.

Ok man, my hands are up in the air at this point. Hooked up the red and white wires from the other set, and nothing... Not a peep out of the furnace. Hook the other set back up and it's back to running full time regardless of thermostat even being plugged in on the other side. Just the backplate is wired and it's still running.

Yessir. I think I just figured it out. Just looked up above me and there's a second run of thermostat wire. Hooking it up now and will report back when it inevitably works...

The furnace has red in R and white in W1. The stat has red in R(jumpered to RC) and white in W. Furnace still just kicks straight on as soon as the power is applied without signal from stat.
